we’re enrolling now We’re taking in a group of sponsorship seekers on Wednesday. For this group, we’re going to help them: - Figure out how valuable they are to sponsors - Use their audience data to attract the right sponsors - Close sponsors with a thorough, non-salesy discovery process. The goal is 5 new sponsors for everyone in the cohort. Do you want in? Doors close on Wednesday. You can talk to us about joining here. https://lnkd.in/eDxfEHEG PS - If you haven’t yet hit your sponsorship goal for the year, I suggest talking with us. One of our clients hit their sponsorship goals for the year back several months ago… and shows no signs of slowing down. You could probably do it, too. Talk to us about a strategy here. https://lnkd.in/eDxfEHEG

I raised over 50,000 dollars in sponsorships last year (both in kind and in cash) through cold outreach. Here are the steps I took: 1. Find brands that I could partner with and make a list of 25. 2. From that list pick 2 people with marketing or partnership per company. 3. Create 2 sequences with similar messaging giving an introduction to Oleos & Canvas and asking directly for the chance to partner or sponsor one of our events. 4. Set up meetings and try closing for our upcoming events. 5, If not a good fit, follow up every 3 to 6 months to reignite the connection and stay top of mind. Some of these sponsorship deals took over 9 months to close, others took 3 weeks. But if there is one thing that is relevant, it is consistency on the outreach. Do not be afraid to follow up. If you really want that sale, the responsibility is on you to teach your leads of your value proposition.

How to get more sponsors in 2024 We are aiming to help sponsorship seekers secure a total of $8 million this year. And we’re on track. So far this year we’ve helped 129 sponsorship seekers go from: ❌ Overwhelmed ❌ Ghosted by sponsors ❌ Having no clear direction To: ✅ Developing a clear strategy ✅ Connecting with decision makers ✅ Repeatedly closing more sponsors If that’s something you’re interested in, get a strategy session with one of my advisors here: https://lnkd.in/e52QVuHn PS - The way we can make this happen over and over again is a little counterintuitive. It doesn’t require a ton of chasing. It doesn’t require a ton of rejection – as in, sending proposals and not hearing back. And you don’t have to be “spammy.” Maybe that’s why we get wildly different and better results than most other companies. ANYONE can get on YouTube and talk about how to draw up a sponsorship proposal. But almost NO ONE can show you how to predictably, repeatedly, and reliably close sponsor after sponsor. If that’s something you’re interested in, talk to us! You can schedule at the link above. Talk soon!

Event design for Biz events- including prospectus development - has to evolve SO QUICKLY… because change impacting the way we work isn’t slowing down. There’s no ‘going back’ to the flagship physical event, expo-hall mentality of 2019. We are serving newly diversified audiences in new ways - and we’ve learned too much to revert to 10x10s and swag bags stuffed with branded dongles and clicky pens. (Don’t gemme wrong. There’s also a better way to do branded gifting. That’s just fodder for a different post.) I’m stoked to join this conversation & share how Women In Product is adapting our approach - and our offerings - to meet the needs of our corporate supporters (who are ALSO navigating today’s new landscape.) I’m also looking forward to hearing about how other #eventprofs are innovating in their event sponsorships. Nobody has it ‘nailed forever and ever amen.’ That’s my favorite thing about events in the post-2020 years. Now it’s OBVIOUS that there’s no one best way to design experiences, no ‘forever’ right answer, and there’s so much hunger from the event community to figure out together how to move forward. I’m ready to talk dolla dolla bills, yo. I think about sponsors as a subgroup of attendees - our sponsors, just like our attendees, join our events because they want to equip women #productmanagers to thrive. Sponsorship fuels much of what we do in events - especially those of us in the nonprofit space. Come hang out with us on the 28th! I’ll be gabbing with Rachel Moore and friends. You’ll get tips for adding some updated zip🔥 to YOUR prospectus’ secret sauce. Oh, and if you work for a company in the digital product space and you care about recruiting and supporting your women PMs - your people should talk to my people. (sponsors@womenpm.org) We can help with that.

CEO at Swell Fundraising, Helping nonprofits host effective events (in-person, hybrid or virtual) and online fundraising campaigns
Today - hardworking nonprofits joined Pamela Grow (she/her/hers) and me for "Motivate Monday". The topic: Corporate Sponsorships!! We covered a lot in our 30 minutes but at its core were the following: (1) Listen, (2) Communicate Well (i.e. use dedicated event software to help you look great to your sponsors), (3) Recognize the importance of everyone at the company, (4) Do not misuse logos, (5) Invest in your Event, Your Brand and Yourself, and (6) Recognize the corporate sponsor needs, where your strengths align with their needs and the resulting opportunity to solve big problems together. Cheers to 2024 sponsorship packages that stand out!
