"【Doppler Effect: A Look from Biology Aging】 Full article: https://lnkd.in/gpCP5uvA (Authored by Jorge Barragán, from Universidad del Gran Rosario, Argentina.) For any wave system, if there is a difference in relative speed between the source and the waves it produces, a shift in the frequency of the waves will occur, known as the #Doppler_effect. This study investigates heart and respiratory rate data from healthy people of both sexes, verifying the frequency distribution before and after puberty and explores the relationship of the frequency distribution with the evolution of the basal metabolic rate throughout life. The results show that the frequency distribution found is the expression of a generalization of the Doppler effect in the case of biological physical systems. #Oscillatory_Variables #Metabolic_Acceleration " Quick submission: https://lnkd.in/g_2RCyD3

Excited to share groundbreaking research on aging! Scientists have developed Ageome, a computational framework that measures the epigenetic age of thousands of molecular pathways simultaneously in mice and humans. Unlike traditional aging clocks that offer a single age estimate, Ageome provides a high-dimensional view of aging across various cellular functions. This innovative approach reveals that different organs and systems age at different rates. By pinpointing which pathways are aging more rapidly, Ageome directly relates to organ aging, enabling targeted interventions to slow down aging in specific organs, improve their function, and enhance overall longevity. Notably, the study found that while cellular reprogramming can rejuvenate cells, it may also accelerate aging in some functional modules—highlighting the complexity of the aging process. In human cohorts, Ageome outperformed existing aging clocks in predicting the onset of age-related diseases, particularly cancer, across different pathways. This could revolutionize how we approach aging and develop personalized anti-aging strategies. Understanding the differential aging rates of organs opens the door to more effective treatments and healthier, longer lives. Your biological age should NOT be ONE number. Introducing Ageome: our new framework that measures aging across thousands of molecular pathways simultaneously 🧬. Ageome challenges the single-number paradigm of biological age, offering a high-dimensional view of aging across biological functions.
