🌿Recap of our plenary session: A Pathway for Protecting Our Planet. Planetary scientists, conservationists, educators and explorers came together to discuss A Pathway for Protecting Our Planet. Humanity and the planet are interconnected – we are all part of the ecosystem – and small changes by individuals can make a big difference. 👉Youth sentiment about climate change is not all outrage and anxiety; systems thinking can be used as a pathway to sustainable resistance. 👉Conservation and sustainability depends on three factors: food, finance and engaging young people, the displaced and indigenous communities. 👉We all have a part to play: small changes (such as eating less meat and flying less), can make a difference. Movements bring change. 👉Education needs to adapt and embrace systems leadership. Schools need to create interdisciplinary structures and a personalized and passion driven education system which is focused on sustainability and mental health, inclusivity and connection to nature. 👉We need to incentivize and entice people to make decisions that are friendly to the life supporting systems on which we depend. With Marie-Claire Graf, Co-Founder, Youth Negotiators Academy Peter Schlosser, Vice President and Vice Provost of Global Futures, Arizona State University Kirsten Schuijt, Director General, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) International Moderator Jade Hameister, Youth Advisor, Villars Institute
