🚨 An Open Question to Flipkart : Why Restrict "<𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞/>" 6.0 to Select Colleges? 🚨 According to Flipkart "𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩.𝑬/𝑩.𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉 (3𝒓𝒅/4𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓) 𝒐𝒓 𝑴.𝑬/𝑴.𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉 (𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔), 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖." But the reality is different because: 💡 The "<𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞/>" program is not open to all colleges. Flipkart’s selection process for eligible institutions seems to prioritize a few select colleges based on reputation or hiring policies. While that may seem reasonable from a corporate perspective, let’s not forget the incredible talent that exists beyond these so-called "elite" institutions. What about students from other colleges who meet all the eligibility criteria and have the skills, drive, and passion to excel? Are they less deserving of opportunities simply because their college didn’t make the list? This exclusionary practice not only undermines the spirit of diversity and inclusion but also alienates countless women who are eager to make their mark in tech. To the Flipkart team: If the goal of "<𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞/>" is to empower women in technology, then it’s time to expand the horizon. Talent doesn’t have a zip code or a brand name—it exists everywhere. By opening this program to all deserving candidates, regardless of their college, you’ll create a truly inclusive platform that reflects the spirit of equality and opportunity. To my fellow tech enthusiasts, let’s raise this issue and advocate for a fairer process. Together, we can push for change and ensure that programs like this empower all women in tech, not just a select few. #GirlsWannaCode #FlipkartGWC #TechMaximized #WomenInTech #WIT #DiversityInTech #GirlsWannaCode #EqualityMatters #OpenOpportunities Jeyandran Venugopal | Seema Nair | Prajakta Kanaglekar | Sumit Chandra | Ayushi Mathur | Ankur Sinha

One of the most frequent questions that, we face at Snoodify investor calls is "Why are you restricting your launch to IIT Delhi?". But unfortunately, only a picky few founders and investors understand. Let me explain... Facebook, launched in a college. Gas, launched in a college. TBH, launched in a school. Not a mere coincidence. Most social platforms, try to launch in closed environments so that the network is dense with minimal nodes to test product efficiency. We have multiple choices with this niche but college is a segment where people are young, open to innovation and interact with each other the most and the ideal audience if you are building in India. So yeah, we would want to experiment with colleges for atleast 12 months prior to going all out. This way we have dense networks in parts across colleges proving our success and completing our 0 to 1. #builtforindia #builtforglobe #builtinindia #madeinbharat Making it a very personal challenge after what Anupam Mittal faced with Shaadi.com... it is high time Indians rule this space.

I have been a part of multiple campus panels in PhonePe and with Siemens too before that. With PhonePe, the focus has shifted increasingly to PS/DS testing and the tests have become tougher and tougher each year. We take special care in curating and designing our own interview questions every year and keep away from the standard LC questions as much as possible, at least in the initial screening rounds. However, the scrutiny we subject these questions and the candidates is insane. Makes me wonder multiple times if this is a case of interview bar being too high than the actual work. Is DSA the only way to test and screen candidates who will succeed at PhonePe or any other big tech? Should we be testing any other aspects of the engineering journey, like e.g. Software Engineering principles, Project Management principles, how to better test your software? Would this result into getting more rounded engineers into our orgs? How can we guarantee that students selected via this route meet the same bar as before? #musings #campushiring
