I dare say, it's in gatherings like these that critical objectivity and subjectivity are explored. With Nachelle Crowther (FRSA) in the St Neots Initiative #CitizensGathering, the energy was just right to tackle #Education head-on, and that's exactly what we did. Building on the vibrant discussion from our first phase a month ago, this session was all about diving deep into problem and solution analyses from #Citizens' perspective. There is a lot to hear, follow the SNI Newsletter for the full scoop. 'Remember that one trauma your great-grandparents had, which then influenced your grandparents, and in their quest to shield your parents from it, they may have gone a tad overboard or missed another mark? And then your parents, thinking this was the norm, raised you as they saw fit. Oh, Wait, can't remember? When you reflect and share your challenges, most parents will recognize their part in it.' Transgenerational trauma—ever wonder how it shapes children's education and development? How about an audit of educational progression by generation? (Alex Hughes and Debbie Phillips mentioned this making me think of the linearity and complexity of education life and how they fit into the context of today's generation) #Education #MentalHealth #FamilyDynamics #CommunityEngagement #StNeotsInitiative

Why make Camp Cherith a priority this summer? A parent was asked why they send their child to camp each summer and if they were going to be returning this year? Her response was; "Camp is not an option - it's a priority. There is nothing throughout the year that can offer to our boys what camp does. I have noticed year after year, it is here that they gain more confidence, get to try things they otherwise couldn't, and are meeting great friends. Even more importantly it has been most significant for their spiritual growth." At Cherith, it is our hope that every child gets a chance to have a Christian camping experience each summer and we want to do whatever possible to make that a reality in 2024. Sure, some will still say: "camp is just a week away from home or a nice break from the kids for the parents." It is that, but it is so much more! Recent research and feedback from parents have found that having a Christian camp experience has been recognized to: 1. improve children's & youth's social skills 2. see young people be willing to try new things 3. help make children healthier by getting outdoors 4. develop leadership skills and healthy independence in young people 5. lead to greater likelihood of staying connected with their faith 6. increase confidence and self-esteem 7. serve as a great place of fun, friends and memories for a lifetime SO! If this is what a young person gets from a camp experience, it makes complete sense why it is a priority for a family to ensure their kids get this type of experience each year! And this is why Cherith has existed for over 70 years - to be an affordable Christian camp in the beautiful Grey Bruce area providing a positive, safe and high quality life-changing experience for the next generation! How has your school experience made a difference in your life? For our #SchoolSuccess Drive with Cornerstone Advocacy Services Christian, our Recruiter, shares how his education pushed him to achieve his goals. "My education has been pivotal in shaping who I am today. It provided structure, helped me establish a daily routine, and laid down important foundations. Transitioning from high school to college was a reality check that required effort, time, and encouragement to push towards achieving great things. Balancing academics, social life, and personal time was a significant life lesson that molded me into the person I am now. These experiences have been invaluable in my growth." Education is a powerful tool that shapes our future. It equips us with knowledge and skills, instills values, builds character, and opens doors to opportunities. That's why providing essential school supplies is crucial. As families and children start a new from experiencing violence, accessing essential resources can be challenging due to financial constraints. Providing school supplies gives them a positive start on their path to recovery. Support this cause at: https://buff.ly/4exEIEy #CommunitySupport #GivingBack #PositiveChange #AwardCares

Dear Blossom Hill Family, Today marks the first day of spring, a season of renewal, growth, and infinite possibilities taking bloom. At Blossom Hill, our vision to break cycles of violence through education for peace aligns with spring's promise of regeneration. Just as seedlings rise persistent from the thawing earth, our beneficiaries - children and youth impacted by conflict - are blossoming with new hope. Through our innovative programs, each student plants the seeds of their own flourishing future. From a Montessori holistic early childhood education giving the youngest learners a nurturing start, to play therapy helping Palestinian children heal from trauma, to coding classes sparking creativity in Afghan girls - we cultivate diverse pathways to productive, peace-filled lives. Where cycles of poverty and violence once grew, our beneficiaries now sow self-reliance, economic mobility, and community change. On this vernal equinox, we celebrate the blossoming potential within every child. With access to quality education, they emerge brave and brilliant from the darkness of war. Each seed we nurture today represents the radiant renewal of human spirit blooming tomorrow. We could not be more grateful for your support. We know you share our compassion and conviction that all children deserve to fulfill their potential. Together, we can uplift kids robbed of their childhoods by conflict and help write a different future by pursuing peace through education. Please consider supporting this life-changing work and invest in education for peace.

Have you noticed the craziness on college campuses??? Particularly for parents of young women heading off to college in the fall, I offer a 2-hour program dealing with the external and internal risks they'll be facing while away. This is not about "kick and punch," these are strategies to address such things as: * Safety on/off campus * Safety working off campus * Spring/Fall breaks * Reckless roommate concerns * Navigating social events on/off campus * PROTESTS/PROTESTERS on/off campus * Early warning signs of dating "Mr. WRONG" * Is he dating 'you' or your bank account This covers areas of the physical, fiscal and social. I offer this to small in-home groups (parent hosted), #PTA, #church or other #nonprofit organizations as a 50/50 fundraiser, or to any #insuranceagent #insuranceagency #insurancecompany #insurancebroker #financialadvisor #wealthmanagement firm seeking to provide "added value" to your client relationships or prospective client recruitment. If interested, simply reach out and let's talk as the upcoming summer time until late July is optimal for this event. Parents *WILL* appreciate it! #defensebydesign https://lnkd.in/etCSRVXx

The best kind of work is where your values (what you believe) and your emotional drives (what energizes you) all come together. I wake up every day, grateful for my work, which challenges and delights and helps others shape a better world. And I’m so glad and proud that Ascent Leadership Networks, LLC enables me to volunteer for organizations that do the same. Every year, my family and I spend a week supporting the New England Hemophilia Association’s camp for people and families with bleeding disorders, a life-threatening chronic condition. This week reminds me of the best that I see in Ascent, and challenges me to see more deeply: * at Ascent, I see people coming together, building community, sharing knowledge , expertise and mutual support to help each other reach their goals. At Family Camp, I see people breaking their armor open, sharing their fears, their triumphs and their hidden hopes with strangers. There, a caring heart, a listening ear - and trust - matters more than any expertise or knowledge. * At Ascent, I see leaders push themselves beyond their perceived limits, growing into the people they want to be in the world. At Family Camp, I see children and young adults doing the same, pushing past fear, learning to use needles to give themselves their medicine, unlocking a life lived with a disorder - but not ruled by it. *At Ascent, we teach leaders to listen inclusively, and learn from the people around them. At Family Camp, I see young adults adapting to neurodiverse campers with a range of medical challenges, creating safe, caring spaces. Creating families of choice. Every year, Family Camp reminds me how much is possible - and to never underestimate the possibility in another person. If a 5 year old child can conquer their fear of needles, then how much more might be possible? #volunteer #chronicIllness #BleedingDisorders #leadership #development #community #possibility #joy

To all Pastors/DREs/Principals, Superintendents, & directors of Family Life/Catechesis/Evangelization still eyeing the life-changing Trinity House Community Group "Heaven in Your Home Gatherings" in '24-25 (5 all-family throughout the year), I want to give you a tight yet realistic 7 Steps To Launch: 1. Now through mid-summer: Learn more about the ROI of this all-family initiative (English/Spanish) now active at 19 parishes in 9 states and Puerto Rico...with an average turnout of 60 attendees! ROI: 1) Parents equipped with a vision & practical strategies for living out the faith in daily life; 2) Parents build and strengthen relationships with other families; 3) Kids have a great time and get more excited about living out the faith! Curious? Schedule a 15-min. demo call with our team (link below). We get it. It's unsustainable for you to personally take this on. So do you lack the time needed to find/"nudge" the 4-8 volunteers needed to champion this? Let us help. Schedule a 30-60 min. Zoom call with our team, publicize it, and then we'll speak directly to those prospective leaders & field any questions. 2. Subscribe (just $399 for the year -- link below) and immediately access the entire suite of resources you'll need to promote your parish's launch of Heaven in Your Home this fall! Is $399 a barrier to entry? Message me or email our team at contact@trinityhousecommunity.org to learn about several fall '24 scholarship opportunities. 3. Reserve your parish hall for 6-8 pm (or thereabouts) for Sat., Sept. 21, 28, or Oct. 5, 12, 19, or 26, for your 1st of 5 transformative all-family gatherings. Your core team or KofC can have pizza/salads waiting for families right after they get out of the anticipatory Mass -- and they'll enjoy what one participant has called "date night, family night and a Bible study all rolled into one." 4. Summer: This is when your parish core team (think welcome table, refreshments, marketing, kids activities) can get on the same page and prep for their Sept/Oct. launch. No meetings necessary. 5. Plug & Play. With your subscription, everything is at your hands -- from promo materials to the beautiful 12-min. video series shown at the 5 gatherings, to discussion questions for parents. 6. Sept '24 - June '25: You set your own pace/schedule for when you'll host the 5 gatherings. Then watch as these parents and families grow in community and deepening faith. Watch as they get back to daily family prayer, family meals, observing the Sabbath, and more. Watch these families invite their friends, meet in the off-months, and check in with each other. 7. Yes. Heaven in Your Home Gatherings require some good-old-fashioned set-up/clean-up of your parish hall. And yes, the stakes are too high to let this work be an excuse for inaction. Busy & overscheduled families are facing stiff headwinds. And these simple yet inspiring evenings are a parish's easiest way to turn that around and position these families to thrive.
