So, something cool happened today.. There are a few myths when it comes to philanthropy, particularly when it comes to endowment fund giving. Myths like... ...endowment fund giving is 'only for major gifts'. While it's true that many endowment funds are established through larger gifts, we believe that everyone and anyone has the capacity to give in strategic, sustainable ways and to make a lasting impact for the causes they love. That's where our endowment fund online giving options and QR codes come into it - like the brand spanking new ones installed in the Wellington Botanic Garden ki Paekākā! By scanning the QR code, you can donate to Nikau's Friends of the Botanic Garden Endowment Fund. Your gift (however big or small) will then be responsibly invested and grown to support the work of the Friends long-term, and make sure the Garden we so love can be enhanced and enjoyed for generations to come. This week for National Homeownership Month, we're focusing on the positive effects that housing can have on education, especially on children who grow up in an owned home. Click the link to read research done by Habitat for Humanity International on how growing up in an owned home helps set children up for later success in life. "The earth will not continue to offer its harvest, except with faithful stewardship." -St. John Paul II Happy #EarthDay! 🌍 It's the perfect opportunity to share how Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska is answering the call and leading the way in #sustainability (one of our core values!) and environmental responsibility. We invite you to join us in our efforts to be good stewards of our environment by donating new or used items to CSS. Our goal is to extend the lifecycle of your donations through regifting, reselling, or recycling them and therefore mitigating the potential of your items ending up in the landfill. ♻️ Client needs are our first priority. When you donate an item, we evaluate how it can help our clients the most- by either regifting it to a family in need of that specific item or by reselling it. All funds from resold items are then used to assist clients and families needing financial assistance for rent, utilities, medical bills, or fuel. If we cannot regift or resell your item, we recycle it so it can be repurposed and help the environment. Join us and together, we will make a #HopeInTheGoodLife difference! 💚🧡💙 Learn more at csshope.org.

It's official...we're growing - again! 🎊 Our Seed a Legacy Program is now available in Kentucky. The program provides free seed and technical guidance for landowners and land managers wanting to plant high-quality #pollinatorhabitat on 2+ acres. Our team recently attended the North American Honey Bee Expo in the state to officially announce the expansion. We couldn't be happier about the response we've received already from attending the NAHBE. Whether you have land or not, this is an all-hands-on deck effort. The more support we have, the more we can change the landscape for the better and the quicker we can expand into more states. Starting today, early giving for #SOLAGivingDay is underway, and your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of children across South Louisiana. With summer break approaching, many families are faced with a concerning question: Without school meals, how will we feed our kids? In South Louisiana, one in seven families and one in five children experience food insecurity. This isn't just a statistic—it's a reality that's hitting close to home. Second Harvest is gearing up to tackle this surge in hunger by doubling our efforts to feed children during these critical months. But this effort isn't something we can achieve alone—we need you. By donating early to #SOLAGivingDay, you can provide a lifeline to those families who won't receive additional help this summer. Imagine this—every single dollar you contribute can help provide three wholesome meals. That's the power of #SOLAGiving in action! Don't wait until May 2 to join us in ensuring no child goes hungry this summer. Give now at https://lnkd.in/gTsWD6Y4 #NOSUMMERHUNGER #FeedTheFuture #SOLAGivingDay

Many counties in Southwest Virginia have received significant damages because of Helene. Many are asking how they can help and are wanting to specifically assist farmers in need. Extension Agents in Southwest Virginia are working to assess farmer needs and the availability of donations. If you have anyone interested in donating, Virginia Cooperative Extension is working to coordinate those efforts. We are trying to get materials where they are needed. VCE is working with the VIRGINIA CATTLEMENS ASSOCIATION on accepting financial donations and hope to have that set up soon. All those interested in donating can fill out this form: https://lnkd.in/e5VedmNn Any farmer affected by the storm that needs assistance can fill out this form to let VCE know: https://lnkd.in/e6H8pXGb. Extension agents will also be adding farmers to the list with their needs.

Be sure to designate your donation to go to the School of Architecture location. ➡ FOOD THROUGH OUR WALMART WISHLIST (https://lnkd.in/esXfpNAZ). Simply add items from the wishlist to your cart that you would like to donate and either select delivery to have your donation automatically shipped to the School of Architecture or you can pick up items from the list and bring to Campbell Hall 201. Tanka Fund is dedicated to aiding rancher partners in returning Buffalo to their ancestral lands by providing necessary infrastructure. A crucial aspect of this support involves helping ranchers construct specific fencing to safely manage their Buffalo herds. One Native rancher is close to completing his fencing project, which will allow him to care for up to 150 Buffalo. Financial contributions are needed to help finish the remaining 5½ miles of fencing. The cost of fencing is approximately $34 per foot, and donations are crucial to help complete the remaining fencing this summer. Help us in this effort by donating at this link: https://lnkd.in/gxiTTAfB 🦬 #TankaFund #BuffaloConservation #SupportNativeRanchers #WildlifePreservation #ProtectTheBuffalo #SustainableRanching #NativeAmericanHeritage #EcoFriendlyFarming #BuffaloFencingProject #ConservationEfforts #WildlifeProtection #SupportIndigenousCommunities #BuffaloRestoration #DonateForACause #WildlifeSupport #CulturalPreservation #IndigenousLandManagement #HelpSaveTheBuffalo #BuffaloHeritage #SustainableAgriculture #LandsLivesEconomies #Buffalo #Bison #TheReturn #NativeAmerican #ClimateRestoration #CommunityEmpowerment #EnvironmentalSustainability #BuffaloRanching #TankaImpact
