Yesterday has already forgotten what you did or didn't achieve. Harsh? Maybe.. But the good news? 👉 Today is a Clean. F*cking. Slate. Good or bad. If you had a shit day yesterday, that doesn't have to stay with you today. If you had a great day yesterday, today is a new one & now you can do it again. This is my reminder that you only have to take with you what you WANT to take with you.

Dealing with criticism. We have misconceptions, in which we think and assume that If somebody is criticising us, or told us that we are wrong or Somebody got angry upon us - we start to take it as offense and we assume They are our enemies, they are bad, they are not on our side. How they dare to say this, They are attacking our reputation and ego - and we think, the best way to respond to these criticism is by - being irrational. But this is just a delusion. The best revenge is :- Being a Pragmatist doing the best of what will advance us in the long run, this is the only revenge; to do something - that puts you in a better position. Photo is not that good of a hook.

In the ongoing feud between Daryl Hewison and I, over the importance of truth, I can't get past one thing. As I understand it, Daryl doesn't like overly certain ASSERTIONS OF TRUTH, because there is always some uncertainty. Always. Usually? I don't know. Anyway... Because there is always an element of uncertainty, Daryl believes the truth doesn't matter at all. But if an idea is expressed with the appropriate amount of uncertainty, isn't that more truthful than an overly certain claim? Isn't that why we have error bars on bar charts? And if an appropriate amount of uncertainty is more truthful, why does Daryl value it? p.s. It’s not a feud; I’m just being dramatic for attention.

From the stands, they hissed and sneered. How easy to criticize in the comment section. How hero-villain. What anti-fun. Each person lowering the frequency of the room with participation. Aftward, there’s a stench. Just hanging there. A water-cooler cloud of unfulfilled dreams. WHAT’S THE ALTERNATIVE? I get it. I have a close friend who is miserable in her job. But won’t change. Why? It’s just easier to complain, play victim… To not take responsibility. Taking responsibility = owning the possibility of (public) failure. SO WHAT? Soooo what (Miles Davis plays in the background). So what. Otherwise, you watch, you comment, you sneer FROM THE STANDS. Why not get onto the field? Dig your feet into the grass. Kick up some dirt. And LIVE. Live all of it. Every win, tear, ripple & high. Breath is our fuel. Might as well breathe heavy inhales on the field. Take in LIFE. Sweat out the mistakes. Run in the rain. Because one day you’ll rest in a box. Don’t sit in that box early.

The activities I was told were a waste of time by every authority figure in my life for YEARS—drawing, writing, and making games—ended up allowing me to retire at 44 with zero debt, and no one to answer to. But I spent decades in a haze chasing the next, bigger role and pay check, sleepwalking. It's easy to get lost. The world is built to *get* you lost. Now, I spend all my time with my family or painting, drawing, or making the games *I* want to, for me. This is not some schtick...my family is not rich. I inherited nothing. Everything we have I made with my art. This is just to say: no one in this world knows your situation, your dreams, or your capabilities *except* you. Not your loved ones. Not teachers. No one. Only you can make decisions based on them. Of course, off on your own, failure can certainly occur, but now, passively waiting to be bounced around like a pinball by outward direction is almost a *guaranteed* failure. I'd say the odds are about the same. Do not be cowed into "safe" decisions by the people in your lives and don't live to please others and not yourself. The systems and processes that worked for them are likely fallen into ruin by now. Do what *you* want to do for yourself. There is no credit back at the end for "following the rules" or making other people happy by destroying your life. This is it. Don't fuck it up. Good luck. https://lnkd.in/gM3S2JZt

Be careful who you listen to. As soon as you have an idea, they’ll tell you it sucks. It’s too much. It’s too little. You’re too early. And probably too late. It’s been done. It’s never been done. But here's the thing. These doubters are your friends. They’re how the world tests you. If you give up on your dream - or tone it down - after hearing from a few naysayers, you didn’t have the commitment to go the distance anyway. However, if you decide to continue on despite the negativity, it’s time to flip the script: surround yourself with the few who believe—the folks who light up at your idea. The folks who know that tomorrow that looks nothing like today. Now go. There’s work to do.
