Training Therapists to Achieve Excellence in Practice | Founder & Clinical Director @integrativepsych.co | Trauma Therapist Educator | Join our Trauma Training Cohort ⬇️ | Book Launch Feb 2025 ✨
You’d be surprised at how many other therapists in the our weekly consult group, talk about feeling lonely. 😔 ⤵️ Deb* (not her name) asked if it was normal to scour Google an hour before a therapy session to look for a quick intervention to use in the session with her client. Everyone nodded...YUP Oh…so she wasn't the only one. Ok, putting aside that I have an entire resource of interventions Deb* could use (skip google!) The point is this: Having people who relate to her experience was so powerful. Tools 🧰 are nice, but human connection is everything. Even for therapists. Or, maybe, especially for therapists. ➡️The level of secrecy that we hold in our minds and bodies is huge and frankly, it’s lonely. 💙 I remember feeling this so clearly. I thought I had self-care down pat, but, I didn’t. I too, had to rediscover ways to support myself as a person. For me and for many others it comes in the form of connecting with other therapists sharing our experiences. As therapists: 🤍We love our work. 💙 We’re passionate and compassionate. But if we don’t have ways to support ourselves as a people, eventually we’ll lose our way. This is why I LOVE our LIVE meetings. The tools and interventions are really useful (better than a google search!) but the human to human connection is everything! —— If you are ready to: 🎯 take the next step in your clinical journey 🎯 become a better therapist 🎯grow your practice 🎯lose the isolation 🎯keep clients until they hit their goals ….this training and consultation program is for you. — Comment “COHORT” below ⬇️ and I’ll share the overview of the course…you’ll gain from just skimming the outline. Plus, I’ll send you a link to our upcoming FREE masterclass. #mentalhealth #traumainformedteaching #somatictherapies #somatictracking #somatictraumatherapy Esther Goldstein LCSW

📌Content that is trending everywhere: Therapy is expensive so I took a trip to ________ I don't understand this as a psychologist at all. Going on a trip, beach, with your friends can be therapeutic but let's not confuse it with therapy. What is the message we're trying to communicate with this? Whenever someone comes to me and says to me that my fee does not fit their budget, I refer them to professionals who work with sliding scales. Additionally, I've worked with students and provided sliding scales for those who cannot afford therapy due to their socio economic conditions. We also try very hard to create that network and pool so that therapy can become more accessible..but it still feels sad when I see content where every time therapy is being positioned as something that is too expensive, all the time. How about therapists who work pro bono, and offer sliding scales and are putting in so much effort despite paying for their own therapy+ supervision sessions?

Did you know that if you picked two people at random in the U.S., there’s an over 60% chance they’d be from different racial or ethnic group? Given that the majority of psychologists are white, it’s likely that clinical therapists will treat someone from a different race or ethnicity than how they identify. This makes understanding the role race plays in therapeutic relationships a critical aspect of the profession. Approved by the APA to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, RL’s Resilience Institute offers training for practicing therapists, by practicing therapists. Recently, we partnered with @Welltrack Connect to offer a CE course on Race and Therapy. Dr. Anica Camela Mulzac shared with ~200 attendees the impact of race on the therapeutic alliance between clients and therapists, how attempts to be “colorblind” can undermine treatment efficacy, and ways psychologists can combat racial microaggressions and implicit bias in their clinical practice. 🎉 We have officially reached 10,000 signatures on the 'Petition to Protect the Title 'Psychologist' in the UK! 🙏 Thank you to everyone who has added their signature to the petition so far! And to Bradley Powell BSc, MSc Dr Ashleigh Dale Dr Tara Quinn-Cirillo CPsychol AFBPsS HCPC Reg Dr Marianne Trent who I have been working alongside on this petition to legally protect the title of 'Psychologist' in the UK 🇬🇧 ❗ However, WE STILL NEED MORE SIGNATURES! Although we have reached 10,000 signatures, we still need more! 💯 At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament, which could be crucial to getting this legislation changed! 🤝 So, if you agree that legislation in the UK needs to change, to protect the public and service users and stop a non-qualified or trained psychologist offering and promoting services for psychological and mental health treatment please add your name to our petition below. ❓ How would you react if you went to your GP and received treatment for an illness only to discover that the doctor treating you did not actually attend medical school? Obviously, this is unlawful in the UK, but those who are not qualified as psychologists can nevertheless refer to themselves as such and promote their services?! 🖊️ Add your name to the list of supporters. 📣 Share this petition with your network. 🙌 Together, we can ensure that UK mental health care is only provided by qualified professionals. Every signature counts ✍️ https://lnkd.in/eZRmaE68 #ProtectThePsychologistTitleUK #ProtectThePublic #MentalHealth #PublicHealth #Parliament #Government #Psychologist #ClinicalPsychologist #CounsellingPsychologist #HealthPsychologist #ForensicPsychologist #OccupationalPsychologist #EducationalPsychologist #SportAndExercisePsychologist #PractitionerPsychologist #RegisteredPsychologist #Petition #HCPC #NHS

Somatic Educator & Coach| Life Mastery Coach | Meditation and Self Care Facilitator| Cold water enthusiast| ongoing student of life
Connected, energised, and whole—these words describe how I felt after having the privilege of collaborating with Lani Morris and Christine Hamilton for a Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) webinar yesterday evening. We presented the use of Map of Meaning International as a tool for self-care at the webinar, which was attended by over 200 members of PACFA. What an incredible life-giving experience it was for me as we opened up the black box of meaning to help nourish and sustain the work of those in the helping profession. Affirming how the MOM is: 🌀 Able to unpack what is meaningful in a very practical and grounded way 🌀A powerful and versatile tool for reconnecting us to congruent and nourishing ways of being for ourselves and those around us. 🌀A reflective process that works even if participants are not visible or interacting with the facilitator 🌀and able to open up generative conversations about what truly matters Thank you to the Older People Interest Group of PACFA for hosting and supporting us. Caroline Romeo The photo was taken earlier as part of the webinar promotion. No photos were taken during the webinar as we were all focused on presenting it. #sustaininghumanity #meaningfulwork
