Pride Month serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The global LGBTQ+ community still faces challenges such as discrimination, stigma, and unequal rights. By recognising Pride Month, we are creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Amen! When team members can bring their individual differences to work, the team is more capable of meeting stakeholder, org/company or, in the case of development teams, donor needs with rigorous logic, deep empathy and high authenticity. Inclusive teams produce consistently better outcomes in the short and long term. If you want a competitive edge, build diverse, inclusive teams with intention. It won't be easy but the pay off is worth it.
