One pathway involves the integration of new biorefinery concepts into existing industrial complexes to reduce upfront development costs. Can #CarbonCapture be applied to smelters? 🏭 Yes, is the answer after a successful #MobileTestUnit campaign at Elkem ASA’s Rana plant in Norway. The campaign was the world’s first carbon capture pilot for the smelter industry and has demonstrated a capture rate of up to 95% 🌍 "The key learnings from this pilot help us know how to optimize our plants for potential future implementation of carbon capture," said Elkem ASA's Climate Director, Trond Saeterstad. The Mobile Test Unit is a complete carbon capture plant, mobile and modular. The Mobile Test Unit utilizes Aker Carbon Capture’s Advanced Carbon Capture™ technology fully installed, meaning that results from test campaigns are scalable toward large-scale plants. The Mobile Test Unit includes all functions found in our large-scale systems and is built for operation at a wide range of flue gases and locations. DLE Pilot Plant Produces High Quality Eluate Steve Kesler, Executive Chairman, of CleanTech Lithium (AIM: CTL) Lithium PLC , said: "The analysis of the eluate shows the DLE performance has exceeded our expectations, concentrating the lithium grade of the feed brine by 3.6X while achieving high recovery rates and low impurities. The first full batch of 24m3 of concentrated eluate is scheduled to be shipped in the coming weeks. The pilot plant has met its design capacity capable of producing 1 tonne of LCE per month, positioning CleanTech Lithium to produce significant quantities of lithium product samples for potential strategic partners. We are edging closer to be one of the first DLE based companies in Chile to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate."
