As we head into the summer months, we expect wind production to drop in #MISO. Last June, MISO on-peak system-wide mean wind production dropped below 20% installed capacity, while March and April saw generation to be +40% of installed capacity. We expect to see similar trends this year. We took some screen shots from our new Mid-Term Nodal Renewable Forecast tool (here is a sneak-peak). The graphs show mean-hourly on-peak wind generation for MISO wind zones. Colors show generation as a percent of installed zonal capacity; red colors indicate more production and blue indicates less production. We pulled historical production (March&April) with our Estimated Actuals feature and used our Mid-Term Forecast to estimated future months (May&June). Offshore wind expansion persists in the relentless pursuit of climate targets. The global offshore renewable energy industry is experiencing a surge, poised to make monumental strides in the years ahead. We are fortunate that the world abounds with renewable energy sources, awaiting efficient and responsible harnessing. Renewables, by their very nature, are virtually boundless and self-replenishing. Encouragingly, the capacity of renewable energy to generate electricity continues its ascent. Data from Statista reveals that by 2023, wind power accounted for over 7% of global electricity generation, marking a significant leap from a mere 1.64% share in 2010. This trajectory underscores the rapidly expanding role of renewables in meeting the world's energy demands while simultaneously addressing environmental concerns. #GreenFuture #SustainableInvesting #SustainableLiving #GreenLiving #cleanenergyfuture #investing #sustainableenergy #Sustainability #cleanenergy #ClimateChange #GoGreen #investments #climatesolutions #green #renewable #CleanEnergyRevolution #gogreen #investment #InvestmentOpportunity #lifestyle #WindPower #investinyourself #offshore #windpower #windmill #climatechange #renewableenergy #RenewableEnergy

🗣️ Small wind energy devices are not economical. It's what we, at Katrick Technologies are challenging. 💪 In fact, the issue is around understanding how winds at ground level behave and utilising this to design an effective wind energy device. Initial results from our wind mapping studies across Scotland have delivered fascinating insights into why conventional rotary wind devices fail to deliver economical returns for customers wanting to go green 🍃 https://buff.ly/46NrZd6 #windenergy #urbanwind #carbonfree #netzero

🔶 IEA Wind Annual Report 2023: Task 45 - Recycling Wind Turbine Blades "The goals of IEA Wind Task 45 are to review the state-of-the-art in wind turbine #blade #recycling, identify data gaps and research needs, and formulate policy recommendations. Currently, there are no international standards for decommissioning or recycling #wind turbine blades, which is why Task 45 provides recommended and best practices for wind turbine blade recycling for the industry. Each deliverable in Task 45 contributes to the preparation of such recommended practices" 🖊 Authors: Justine Beauson, DTU Wind and Energy Systems, Denmark. Good article from knowledgeable energy journo Peter Milne in his interview with Chris Kearney. Chris presented his Kwinana wind project in a recent SEN Presents - great technical and commercial innovation. from Wind With Purpose. BTW the 16GW of new wind mentioned is required under Energy Policy WA's SWIS demand assessment future ready scenario. This "includes expansion and electrification of existing connections plus a more conservative estimate of hydrogen loads" and corresponds to a SWIS demand growth of 7GW (SWIS demand growing to ~12 GW in total). #energytransition #energypolicy
