Stiesdal’s #TetraSpar #Demonstrator achieves an impressive 63% #capacity factor in its 3rd year of operation, showcasing the potential of #floatingoffshorewind. 🌬️💡 In the first two years, the unit recorded a combined capacity factor of 54%, with high floater availability rates of 97% and 98.3%. With the #availability at 99% for 2024, the capacity could very well continue to increase. This highlights the minimal impact of being a #floating #windturbine compared to traditional fixed-bottom turbines, reducing uncertainty for developers 🙌. For context, global offshore wind capacity averages 42% (Statista, 2022 data) and in Europe remained consistent at 50% in 2023 (WindEurope). 📈 The achievement underscores the progress of the #floatingwind sector, signaling promising developments ahead! 🚀 #renewableenergy #windpower 📸reNEWS - Renewable Energy News

Energy UK’s latest analysis has emphasised the critical need for a substantial rise in offshore wind capacity during the next two Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions. Failure to secure additional projects could jeopardise the UK government’s aim of reaching a 50GW target by 2030, according to the report. Today's blog summarises the current shortfall in new offshore wind projects. If forthcoming auctions fail to deliver at an accelerated pace, the UK could fall short of it's 2030 target. As we head into the summer months, we expect wind production to drop in #MISO. Last June, MISO on-peak system-wide mean wind production dropped below 20% installed capacity, while March and April saw generation to be +40% of installed capacity. We expect to see similar trends this year. We took some screen shots from our new Mid-Term Nodal Renewable Forecast tool (here is a sneak-peak). The graphs show mean-hourly on-peak wind generation for MISO wind zones. Colors show generation as a percent of installed zonal capacity; red colors indicate more production and blue indicates less production. We pulled historical production (March&April) with our Estimated Actuals feature and used our Mid-Term Forecast to estimated future months (May&June). Offshore wind expansion persists in the relentless pursuit of climate targets. The global offshore renewable energy industry is experiencing a surge, poised to make monumental strides in the years ahead. We are fortunate that the world abounds with renewable energy sources, awaiting efficient and responsible harnessing. Renewables, by their very nature, are virtually boundless and self-replenishing. Encouragingly, the capacity of renewable energy to generate electricity continues its ascent. Data from Statista reveals that by 2023, wind power accounted for over 7% of global electricity generation, marking a significant leap from a mere 1.64% share in 2010. This trajectory underscores the rapidly expanding role of renewables in meeting the world's energy demands while simultaneously addressing environmental concerns. #GreenFuture #SustainableInvesting #SustainableLiving #GreenLiving #cleanenergyfuture #investing #sustainableenergy #Sustainability #cleanenergy #ClimateChange #GoGreen #investments #climatesolutions #green #renewable #CleanEnergyRevolution #gogreen #investment #InvestmentOpportunity #lifestyle #WindPower #investinyourself #offshore #windpower #windmill #climatechange #renewableenergy #RenewableEnergy

Interesting article from Deloitte on the industry outlook in 2024 for US renewable energy. It reflects a lot of what we're seeing from the recruitment perspective. - Solar and Storage with strong tailwinds - Green Hydrogen is seemingly soon to take off with a few issues remaining - Offshore wind quiet - RNG and geothermal more active - Competition increasingly high for top talent #solarenergy #windenergy #energystorage #hydrogen #greenhydrogen #bess #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #recruitment Article link: https://lnkd.in/eE3D5kCr

Consulting Associate with ERM in Capital Projects Delivery - Primarily delivering renewable energy projects
Great to attend the Australia Wind Energy 2024 conference with Michael Guy and Jenny Luk, representing ERM. I was excited to see and be a part of the growing momentum behind the renewable energy industry in Australia, one that will be critical to achieve and then surpass not just Australia's but the world's emissions reduction targets. #ERM #AuWE2024 #WindEnergy #OnshoreWind #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #Australia

Climate Change Realist - Communicating the scale of the problem, the latest scientific research, breakthrough climate solutions, the sources of climate denial and political support for climate destroying fossil fuels.
And Part 2... Summerside is a vision of what out future will look like. If there's enough land around municipalities to build new neighbourhoods, then there's enough land to do that and build solar, wind and battery storage to power that community with mostly renewable energy. This prevents the need to build more thermal generation, especially if existing communities are retrofitted to increase their renewable capacity and energy efficiency (eg. heat pumps and net-zero retrofits). This is already being done in places like Summerside and it guarantees energy independence for the community as well as guaranteed low cost energy in the long term. hashtag #PEI #summerside #energystorage #solar #smartgrid #renewableenergy #electricity #electrifyeverything
FULL VIDEO - Part 2 - Summerside adds an AI-powered microgrid, solar, and batteries to their local electricity grid and goes from ZERO to 62% renewable energy over the year leading Cities across Canada. In Part 1 they developed their smart grid, built a small wind farm in the city and helped residents replace oil furnaces with electric, energy-storing furnaces and water heaters to flatten the curve on their wind power. The innovation here is happening in a small City that had virtually no electricity generation and now generates 62% from renewable energy locally. #solar #windpower #renewableenergy #energytransition #climateaction #green #electricity #energy #greenenergy #sustainability #resilience City of Summerside Kent Rathwell Sandra Moore, GCB.D Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA) SkyFire Energy Inc Kuby Renewable Energy C40 Cities Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Canada Gregor Robertson Seth Schultz Federation of Canadian MunicipalitiesGavin Mooney Russ Bates The Energy Mix Mitchell Beer NICO JOHNSON 🎙️UN Environment Programme Lois Corbett Dan Kutcher Solar Alberta
