Rethink waste, it is not worth nothing. Nike's example of repurposing production waste by creating their signature Grind material from collected shoe sole scraps re-imagined in new products. I applaud this, not because it’s ‘game-changing’ or particularly difficult but because it’s necessary and so many businesses that I have worked with experience large volumes of waste on a daily basis but don't work to reduce or repurpose it. Wastage is wasted money, time, materials and greatly increases the impact of products we create. Turning waste into valuable products is imperative as we move towards a sustainable future but it can be hard for businesses to understand their waste let alone turn it into a valuable product.
