I see a lot of people with "Open to Work" banners but a barebones LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a massive search engine and one of the methods recruiters find you is through boolean key word searches. Build out your About and Experience sections. Include projects you've worked on, technologies you use, what your day-to-day looks like etc. Add to your skills sections! For additional social proof, ask for endorsements and recommendations. Not sure what to write in the Experience or About sections? Your experience sections could honestly just be copy & pasted from the experience sections on your resume (recruiters, feel free to disagree here). For About sections, let your personality shine through a little! Share your interests, share what you do from a personal perspective and why you do it...it's About YOU. If you're looking for a job but your LinkedIn presence is weak, how do you expect recruiters to find you? Start directing more recruiter traffic your way, especially if you have the green banner up. The everything has its own consequences in good and bad ways. As per my experience “Open to work” is the best option that professionals have at the moment to swift fast. I always ask “what’s in it for me” question rather than “what I’m losing” question. Head hunters keep their eagle eyes open to spot the victim and it will boost your demand in the market and raise your professional value rather than you are sitting on the same chair for years with no appreciation. Job seekers have to think which offer brings the best food to their table at the end of 30days. Based on those reasons “Open to work “ is the best option for me to change companies fast if my current employer doesn’t recognize my hard work with in 6months to 12months.
