Landmark Legislation Introduced to Strengthen Workers' Rights Across the UK The UK Government has just unveiled the Employment Rights Bill, designed to create a pro-worker, pro-business environment. This transformative legislation, introduced within 100 days of the new government, aims to end exploitative practices like zero-hour contracts and fire-and-rehire while introducing various day-one rights. This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to boost pay, productivity, and secure a future-ready workforce. The bill also strengthens SSP and makes flexible working the default, where practical. These reforms offer flexibility and security for workers and employers alike—creating a fairer, modern labour market that helps the economy grow. #EmploymentRights #WorkersRights #UKLegislation #Flexibility #EconomicGrowth

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 The anticipated Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Act 2023 will not be enacted this September as expected. Instead, the Labour government plans to include stronger worker protections in the upcoming Employment Rights Bill. This new bill will ensure that contracts accurately reflect workers' hours over 12 weeks, promoting fairer and more predictable working conditions. Keep an eye out for the Employment Rights Bill, set to be published by October 13th, as part of the government's promise to make significant changes within its first 100 days. This highlights the ongoing need for flexibility and improvement in labour laws to meet the changing needs of the workforce.

Despite the ambitious goals, many details are still under discussion, and the full impact won’t be felt until later. 🔹The 157-page Employment Bill is a start, but much consultation and debate remain. 🔹New rights to challenge unfair dismissal won’t be in effect until autumn 2026. 🔹Labour’s promise to abolish Conservative legislation on strike ballots and service levels is a key highlight. Stay tuned as we monitor how these changes will shape the future of work in the UK.
