I had a great time facilitating a workshop entitled, "Practical Metacognitive Strategies for the College Classroom" at the 2024 Teaching, Learning, & Technology Conference (TLTCon 24). Many thanks to attendees for the great thoughts you shared throughout the session! 😊

#TLT One of the best virtual conference I've attended. Thank you College of Charleston for a great event! Tolulope (Tolu) N. led an impactful session - I can't wait to share what I've learned from her and the other presenters these past two days and start implementing new strategies to enhance my instruction.
Proud to be an Alumni of Consumer, Apparel, & Retail Studies Department at UNCG! Congratulations Class of 2024. It's hard to believe that I graduated over 33yrs ago from the "G." I was literally the first Auto-cad Computer class. We literally with the teacher had to figure it out together. That experience taught me that it's not what you know, that always gets you to the next level but that you have the aptitude, inquisitiveness and that you are willing to find a way in the dark. The professor was transparent and admitted that she had not been trained on the program. She thought it was a great display of team effort to create our own mode of operation and push each other into the 21st Century of Tech. Around that same time "Prodigy" was the brain child of Sears and Roebuck company that attempted to move into the age of the internet but they were too early and only had a hint of what was to come. Had they forged that path a little longer they may have become the Amazon of today. Sears formerly was the King of Retail Communication sending out the infamous Christmas Sears & Roebuck catalog every year. They almost remained the King of the Hill. Lesson: Into the dark we all may go but he who creates the flashlight or a flash of light will become the bolt that drives your mission into the next dimension. #foodforthought#sears#amazon#retail#missiondriven#uncg#whatsnext#innovation#ingenuity#human#thoughleaders#brainstorming
Three weeks into this year’s #BCorpMonth, we’re reflecting on why being a B Corp is important every month of the year. At Cube Group, our #BCorp certification is a badge we wear with pride. It’s an external indicator of the core values that make us who we are – a purpose-driven consultancy with a strong vision for a better future. Our decision to become a B Corp in 2017 was a natural extension of our foundational reason for being—to make a meaningful difference in the community.
One of the ways we live the B Corp values and strive towards positive change is by embracing curiosity. This means listening intently, learning about the challenges our clients face, asking questions, and exploring options and possibilities. We think deeply about the sectors we operate in, the services we offer, and the projects we work on. Our approach is grounded in the belief that – through curiosity – every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and innovation.
During B Corp Month each year, we take time to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the paths of improvement and innovation that lie ahead. But we don’t just celebrate our own certification; we amplify a movement of organisations using business as a force for good.
#BCorpMonth2024 is an opportunity to reflect on the power of collective action and the impact of aligning business practices with the greater good. We’re excited to continue our journey - driven by curiosity, guided by our commitment to positive impact, and strengthened by the accountability and values of the B Corp certification.
➡️ The future is this way, are you coming?
As individual B Corps and as a movement, we have the opportunity to drive change and propel progress for generations to come.

Teaching for Washington Improv Theater is one of the most rewarding and engaging things I do. I'm delighted that our classes won this well-deserved recognition by Washington City Paper! 🎉
Taking an improv class is about so much more than comedy and being onstage (though both are certainly fun pieces of the experience). It's about using our brains in a different way than our daily lives typically entail. It's about digging deeper into how we listen, speak, and metabolize information. It's about taking a creative approach to better understanding how humans interact. It's about even more things than I can list here! Have I convinced you to take a class yet?! 😉
I am always happy to chat with folks offline about what to expect from an intro improv class like the ones I teach for WIT. More info here: https://lnkd.in/e53Tsq_H#appliedimprov#improvclass#communicationskills
WIT is thrilled to share that our classes program has won the Washington City Paper's reader's poll for DC's "Best Art Class"! Kudos to WIT Education Director Kacie Peterson for leading this program that brings joy and self-discovery to hundreds of Washingtonians every year. Want to try improv? General (Ret.) Mark A. Welsh III was named the 27th president of Texas A&M University earlier this month. President Welsh grew up in San Antonio, coming to Kyle Field on football Saturdays and learning Aggie traditions from his father, Mark A. Welsh Jr., Class ’46. His dad was the first of 15 Aggies in the Welsh family.
