With demand for material resources expected to double by 2060, #circulareconomy activities – such as recycling, #reusing and remanufacturing existing materials can help address demand for critical minerals by extending the lifecycle of materials, thereby #reducing the need for #extraction of new minerals. It is estimated that circular economy approaches could supply 20% of total critical mineral #demand between 2022 and 2050.

The rise of vaping and its #eWaste impact 📈 Vaping is booming! The e-cigarette market hit over $22 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow by 31% annually until 2030. In 2022, more than 844 million vapes were sold, creating over 42 million kg of e-waste. Why is this an issue? Vapes contain plastic, lithium-ion batteries, heating elements, and circuit boards. In 2022 alone, these devices included around 130,000 kg of lithium.
