To ensure you tell your brands’ authentic story AND getting across the intended narrative I’d like to give a shoutout to Storyology & Jennifer Kite-Powell

Back in 2018, I started my content creation journey with 30-40 others. Fast forward to today, and I can only name two of us, still at it. The difference? Consistency. It's not about talent or fancy equipment. It's about showing up, day after day. 80% of success is simply sticking with it, playing the long game while others look for quick wins. Is it easy? Hell no. But it’s simple. Creating content consistently, even without immediate results, is tough. Yet, this persistence is what separates the successful from the rest. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a successful content strategy. Keep showing up, keep creating, and give yourself time to grow. Consistency isn’t just key—it’s the whole damn lock.

Some good advice from my favorite semiotician - Cecily Long:  "Be passionate about old horror movies, or drag kings, or weird avant garde poetry, or whatever it is you’re actually passionate about. But for God’s sake, don’t be passionate about brands." While I try not to post personal information on LI, I am reflecting on my daughter’s “founding journey” and that of other founders. I felt compelled to share. The idea of this book came from a beloved childhood memory of making “Frog Tea” with her older sister. It started on rainy day when my older daughter during rainstorms was bored. My older daughter quickly decided they would go out in the rain and make “Frog tea”. It became a favorite thing she wanted to do whenever and ANYTIME it started to rain. The story here is the journey she did as a “founder” while going to school full time, participating in state and national speech and debate tournaments, and just trying to be a high school kid in a post pandemic world.   Unlike many teens these days, she was hell bent on working during summers. She teaches at creative writing camps and earned a few thousand dollars each summer. Unbeknownst to me, this was the beginning of her founding her company. She spent the first year looking for PMF. Well, that had been established a long time ago.  After writing and rewriting her story, she negotiated a contract (outsourced the non-core work) to an illustrator based in Italy. This cost thousands of dollars of her OWN money (so, she bootstrapped the venture). She then (with zero parent help – more later) founded Maisie Meadow Publishing where she has 100% legal/commercial control (owns the IP) as supposed signing away her rights to a big-box (her words) publishing company. She then obtained a literary copyright for “Frog Tea”. To this day, I have NO idea how or when she did this but having “Patents” was an excellent move. She then registered the book with the Library of Congress and obtained her copyright. She then went to her network of investors and friends (AP English Teachers at school, etc) for trial and thoughts on her “Strategy”, and some editorial help. After completing all the internal product release gates, she officially built a website. She self-published the book on Amazon.   She came to me 2 weeks ago and asked for help on her “Marketing Plan”. Now, I am not a marketeer, but we did brainstorm – and it was really at this point where I started asking how did you get this far without any help from me? She said “Dad, I know you are good in Finance, and I had that taken care of, the rest I was determined to do myself and I have a network”. I was both dumbfounded and proud. She now is working on consignment, Amazon and working with local schools and bookstores. She is now the CRO for “Frog Tea”. She has her distribution channels figured out and is literally off to the races.   The determination and grit of a 16-year-old young woman.  Here is to ALL the founders out there, especially young women wanting to take their dream to market. That’s the story my family and I are stunned at.  Link: https://lnkd.in/gy7D_w3m
