Women’s history month may be over but I’m excited to continue highlighting strong women leaders who are doing amazing things. Today I’m excited to highlight Jessica Hsueh, an inspiring woman leader who is currently leading GTM strategy and ops at Miro. Jessica and I were connected by Ryan Libster, who I had the absolute pleasure of working with at Dropbox when we were part of a small but mighty media sales unit. After connecting around a post related to the bamboo ceiling, Ryan immediately thought to introduce me to Jess given she had identified with some of the experiences I had conveyed growing up in tech sales as an Asian seller. When we first met virtually it felt like I had known Jess for years as we resonated with each other’s experiences within tech sales while connecting on how our values impact the way in which we show up at work. As Asian Americans we’ve both adapted our way of communicating while still maintaining what feels authentic to our roots. Take a listen to this excerpt from the Asian Business Leaders panel where Jess describes her own experience transitioning into tech sales. She talks about evolving her communication style to put forth her opinions while also trying to maintain her listen-first and collaborative disposition.
