💪Castle Rock Water is gearing up for 2024. Our New Year’s resolution is actually a five-year strategic plan. In December, Town Council approved this guiding document and Castle Rock Water is has already begun several programs which will keep our utility focused and efficiently working on identified projects that make a difference. Here are just a few of the more than 170 tactics included in the plan: construct Castle Rock Reservoir No. 2, evaluate the use of renewable energy to reduce operational costs, implement automated metering infrastructure and reduce non-functional turf by 5%. I've also been dissuaded from submitting nominations for various awards programs because the Nomination forms were too ponderous, too complex, and would take forever to fill out. For that reason, I’ve kept EM Honours’ Nomination forms short and sweet, and can be filled out by anyone https://lnkd.in/gVcMxDWr #energyefficiency #decarbonization #energymanagement

#NewsIE | 📢 The U.S.D.I Bureau Of Land Management published final rules to govern leasing and rental rates for #renewableenergy projects on public lands. The final rules closely follow recommendations from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). They will (1) Reduce rents and fees for renewable #energyprojects through 2035 and eliminate duplicative payments for renewable energy developers; (2) Extend lease terms for renewable projects to 50 years; (3) Remove competitive leasing requirements in priority development areas; and (4) Make it easier to develop standalone energy storage projects on public lands. Abby Hopper, president and CEO of SEIA on BLM’s final rules, says “Today the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) codified SEIA’s recommendations to make it faster, easier, and cheaper to build clean energy projects on public lands. We need to pull every lever we can to efficiently deploy clean energy, and our nation’s public lands remain an untapped resource. BLM’s new rules are a smart step forward and will help to reverse decades of preferential treatment for fossil fuel interests". ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dwvfCCeE FYI: Misty Chioffe, Stephanie Bosh, Petra Hoke, Jen Bristol, Jennifer Cangelosi, Justin Baca, Gilbert Campbell, Gizelle Wray, Alyssa Edwards, Kelsey Hopkins, MPA, Laura Stern, Jessica Lawrence-Vaca, Scott Hughes, Melissa Alfano

⚡️ Scottish Ministers have given the green light for the Creag Dhubh to Inveraray 275kV overhead line connection project, securing the final major approval needed for SSEN Transmission’s Argyll and Kintyre upgrade. This milestone paves the way for the next phase of the project, which aims to increase the capacity of the electricity transmission network in the region to support growth in renewable energy and ensuring security of supply. 💡 The upgrade, part of SSEN Transmission’s wider £20bn Pathway to 2030 programme, will play a key role in helping Scotland and the UK meet its net zero and clean energy targets. By upgrading existing infrastructure, the project will improve the transmission of home grown renewable energy, strengthening the network and ensuring a more reliable energy supply for homes and businesses across the country. ➡️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/ej53uTxW

Head of Energy, Natural Resources & Strategic Land (Projects & Infrastructure UK) at Gillespie Macandrew LLP Solicitors I dual qualified I Corporate/Commercial/Regulatory I
the #energytransition is critical to #Scotland #England & #Wales to create jobs, to transition from fossil fuels to renewables, to encourage #renewableenergy technologies and manufacturing in #GB and without #transmission and major upgrades to the #grid it will not happen. #publicconsultation is important so that all #stakeholders can be aware of what is proposed and how it may affect them but also how strategically it will benefit the nation, its energy security and the costs of energy to households and business. in order to target the grid upgrades by 2030 there is no time to lose and so it is imperative to take part in this consultation by SSEN Transmission linked below. We all have a role to play to take this important project forward while establishing as early as possible the best way to deliver it while balancing its impacts and benefits.

📣The Minister for Climate Change and Energy has made a preliminary decision to grant a feasibility licence for an #OffshoreWind project in the Southern Ocean off Victoria. The project could: ✔️ deliver hundreds of jobs during planning, construction and operation ✔️ generate just over 1.2 GW of electricity – enough to power about 650,000 Victorian homes ✔️ deliver broader benefits through a community benefit sharing program. This is a major step in developing our offshore wind industry. Read more 🔗 https://brnw.ch/21wNbyU

California’s marine energy sector is set to soar with a new collaboration between CalWave Inc. and AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles. This partnership, cemented by a memorandum of understanding (MoU), aims to establish a local wave energy industry and deploy projects along California's coastline. CalWave, known for its pioneering wave energy technologies, and AltaSea, a hub for renewable energy and blue technology, are poised to advance Governor Gavin Newsom's vision for sustainable energy. Supported by recent legislation mandating the exploration of wave and tidal energy feasibility, this initiative seeks to integrate marine technologies into California's energy grid efficiently. With targets to achieve significant offshore wind capacity and marine energy deployment by 2045, California is paving the way for global leadership in renewable energy innovation. We are proud to support this transformative journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #california #innovation #sustainability #waveenergy #renewables #cleanenergy
