Honored to have chaired a panel at the Times Higher Education European Universities Summit hosted by Constructor University where we delved into the reputational performance of German universities. Grateful for the insights and practical advice shared by Helmut Kern, Ellie Cook and Mark Sudbury on how universities can enhance their global reputation. Here are a few key takeaways from our discussion: - Understanding your audience and leveraging data to identify strengths are crucial components in shaping universities reputation strategy - Repuation strategy should be intergrated with the wider institutional strategy & led by the universities leadership team - Collaboration with the academic community fosters innovation and strengthens institutional reputation. - Exploring various initiatives allows universities to adapt to evolving global landscapes. - Continuous evaluation and feedback mechanisms are integral in refining strategies and measuring impact.
Times Higher Education's Magdalena Marzec chairing a panel at the European Universities Summit offering a deep-dive into the reputational performance of German universities, joined by Helmut Kern, Ellie Cook and Mark Sudbury. Some surprises here in terms of how institutions across Germany are perceived by academics around the world, based on data from THE's Global Academic Reputation Survey, the largest of its kind in the world. Access to THE's reputation dataset is possible via THE DataPoints: https://lnkd.in/eQAgeQDt

Hello everyone, a happy new year to you! I am very pleased to say that I shall be presenting the first Higher Education Research Group (HERG) seminar of 2024 on January 16th 1-2pm (online). I shall be talking on The Operationalisation of Collaborative Academic Practice Please come along if interested! Hazel Collaborations are a key feature of contemporary practice in higher education, involving work across multiple boundaries. For those involved in their operationalisation, expertise is demonstrated in the ability to navigate complex boundary zones, often outside of ‘traditional’ university structures and processes. With calls being made to bring the experiences and motivations of those working in the ‘third space’ into the open, this presentation discusses the operationalisation of the collaborative academic practice associated with TNE partnerships, and introduces a new model for analysing boundary work, The Collaborative Work Model (CWM). This model is used here to relate to TNE, but could be used for other situations where academics are involved in operationalising collaborations…for example Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. The seminar will take place in Zoom: Join Zoom Meeting https://lnkd.in/eK2a-PBN
