Sometimes you never know what the impact of going to new surroundings and getting a cup of coffee can do. I was just starting in marketing. This was quite a shift for me as my working career had been all in finance. And here I was in a new function, where it is all about connection and relationships. How fortunate I was that I had the opportunity to learn working with Nicholle Eno DeLorez. Nicholle decided to take our small team out of the office to connect over a coffee. We went to one of those laid-back coffee shops that had a vibe and a feel that it might have also been someone’s house. And as we settled in, our formality started to move away as we moved closer together. While we were talking about our plan and our work, I was really learning about the power of connection and inclusive leadership within a team. There is such an impact that you can create by moving outside of your normal spaces, to being in a place where there is nothing else that matters besides each other, where the space feels safe and distractions are less prevalent. I am grateful for learning so much from Nicholle in that first marketing role, and nothing more important than how special it is when you can connect people together. Nicholle, I appreciate you and the time we were able to work together. I know so many others feel the same way. #thankfulthursday #inclusiveteamleadership #coffee #connection

📚 From intern to COO. 🚠 From 2 to 11 team members. 🚀 From an idea to a successful business. Turning a dream into reality requires perseverance. So much is not shown in the statements above: the constant learning, the camaraderie, the wins and losses, the tough decisions, the grit required to show up day and again amidst the excitement of uncertainty. To me, walking this path of entrepreneurship and leadership has not only shaped my growth as a professional but also as a human being. This journey continues to teach me how to evolve - in purpose and self-awareness, in always showing up, even when it is hard, and in holding tight to my values.
