🌟 GHC 2023 Reflections 🌟 I had an incredible time at the Grace Hopper Celebration this year, connecting with brilliant minds and gaining valuable insights into the ever-evolving tech landscape. The event was a hub of innovation, knowledge sharing, and inspiration. The highlight of the event for me was the outstanding lineup of speakers, and one individual who left a profound impact on me was Brenda Darden Wilkerson, the Keynote Speaker and President/CEO of AnitaB.org. Her words resonated deeply with me, and I wanted to share a few key takeaways from her thought-provoking opening plenary session: 🌟 "Are you fully powerful yet?" Brenda challenged us to harness our full potential and embrace our power to drive change in the tech world. 🌟 "We are here to push each other to be better." Her words emphasized the importance of collaboration and mentorship within the tech community, highlighting that our collective growth is intertwined. 🌟 "I am the way forward, you are the way forward, we are the way forward." Brenda's vision of unity and progress ignited a sense of responsibility in all of us to work together toward a brighter future. But what truly touched my heart was Brenda's stark reminder: "If you are silent about your pain, they'll kill you and say you enjoyed it!" These words served as a powerful reality check, urging us to speak up, persevere, and strive even harder to achieve our dreams. GHC 2023 was a reminder that together, as advocates for change and innovation, we can overcome obstacles, shatter barriers, and pave the way for a more inclusive and diverse tech industry. In that moment, amidst the hum of anticipation for the future of our planet , technology and innovation, I was deeply reminded of the journey that brought me here—the enduring saga of the Minevich family. From the resilient roots in Eastern Europe, where our family name first symbolized strength against adversity, to the harrowing trials of WWII , the spirit of my ancestors has been a beacon guiding my path. Each story of survival and sacrifice infused within me the courage to embrace the challenges of our times. As I am standing on that global stage, I wasn’t just sharing insights into AI and our planet’s future; I was echoing the resilience of a thousand ancestors. Their legacy, marked by perseverance and hope, fueled my passion to make a meaningful impact on the world. The journey of the Minevich family is a testament to what we can overcome and achieve. It’s a narrative that spans generations, emphasizing not just survival, but the flourishing of spirit and innovation against all odds. full story ⬇️ It was an honor to be invited to speak at The United Nations Global People’s Summit amongst 55 Global Leaders who are making major strides in #socialinnovation by leveraging disruptive technologies and the power of mobilizing networks to address some of the most challenging issues of our time. The summit was organized in September 2017 during the 72nd UN General Assembly. 🇺🇳 In my signature talk “The Production Pipeline: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Human Dignity"™️️, I discussed global production and manufacturing, exploitation of labor, trends in humans rights abuses in supply chains, and how AI and Robotics can impact the future of work and contribute to reducing exploitation globally. 🔥 Being a pioneer in my mission, I can’t count the eye rolls and frozen stares I got every time I shared my vision for the #futureofwork and how #ai, #robotics anda #automation technologies can be leveraged to create positive #impact -not only for economic growth and environmental protection- but also for saving lives, providing dignified jobs, improving work environments, reducing inequalities, and eradicating #labor exploitation in #supplychains. 🎯 As CEO of ID4A Technologies, we proved this mission POSSIBLE with facts, impact measures, (and recognitions) demonstrating the results we produced during 12 years of purpose-driven #leadership and conscious #business strategies. 📊Cumulatively thru 2022, as a result of our products, services, programs and commitments to the #sdgs 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12: •2000+ #manufacturing businesses adopted sustainable practices and integrated information of their reporting cycles. • 319,102 people gained #employment in industrial sectors, including 71,689 individuals of minority groups. • 106,129 women were provided steady jobs. • 3,728 women were trained for leadership roles. • 952, 491 people were provided improved, safe and secure working environments. • and 1,751,130 people were saved from exploitative jobs, with 426,159 being women and girls! Although ID4A has been acquired as of June 2022 and I transitioned into new roles, my impact initiatives and commitments continue. I find myself looking back at 2023 with a sense of achievement and excitement for what lies ahead. This past year has been a journey marked by global engagement, technological advancement, and meaningful contributions to the discussions on digital identity. One of the highlights of this year was representing EarthID at the Smart Cities Expo 2023 in Barcelona. Engaging with industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts at the UK pavilion was an enriching experience. Sharing my entrepreneurial journey with PhD students at City, University of London, was another milestone. It was not just about imparting knowledge but also about inspiring the next generation of innovators and thinkers. Additionally, speaking at several notable conferences across India and Europe allowed me to delve deeper into the evolving landscape of technology and its application in various domains. Our submission to the G20 T20, focusing on a transformative solution for carbon markets, has been a significant achievement for EarthID. We proposed a combination of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs), and Verifiable Credentials (VCs) to address the challenges of transparency, traceability, and integrity in carbon markets. As we step into 2024, my focus as CTO is on further advancing our technological capabilities and cementing EarthID’s position as a leader in creating secure and efficient solutions. The future holds exciting prospects for EarthID, and I am eager to continue driving innovation that not only serves our business objectives but also contributes to a digitally inclusive world. 🦾 Thrilled to have mentored at the Global Teens Hackathon 2024 for Ethic AI. It was an enriching experience guiding teams through the identification and mitigation of AI ethical risks. EthicAI is a practical concern, crucial for launching AI products, and it played a pivotal role in the hackathon. The previous Global Hackathon included a bootcamp where I had the opportunity to mentor a session on EthicAI to teams.. 🎉A heartfelt thank you to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, other mentors and judges for organizing such a meaningful event in this challenging for Ukraine time. Reflecting on my teenage years, I realize how much has changed. Yet, I witnessed 10 teams from various Ukrainian regions display remarkable professionalism, they learned about design thinking and product development and I was honored to assist them with EthicAI. them! 🌐 For the first time, Ukraine participated in the international Teens in AI hackathon, held across over 40 countries. At the national level, 10 teenage teams crafted AI-based projects aimed at addressing challenges in inclusive education and healthcare. Special accolades go to: 🏆 ConnectAbility: An AI-powered sign language learning app that also serves as a "voice translator" for the hearing-impaired by recognizing and vocalizing gestures. 🏆 Warrior Mind: An AI psychologist dedicated to providing continuous support to military personnel and veterans with PTSD. 🏆 Fluentfingers: A platform that converts educational audio content into sign language for students with hearing impairments. 🙌🏻 Let's cheer them on as they represent our nation on the global scene!
