UPDATE #AIRTEC 2024 - #Future in Focus Oct 8-10, 2024 Trade Fair #Augsburg "Innovations in #aerospace often go hand in hand with issues in #safety and #defense and were fostered by overlapping technological challenges between aerospace industry and defense industry.” For Airtec, these are the reasons to expand the existing thematic canon to include ‘Defense & Security’ – as we have already reported before. The strong focus on #dual_use approaches, which also extend to areas such as #automotive and #transportation, #industrial #automation, and novel #energy concepts, makes Airtec an attractive platform for exhibitors and visitors alike. We feel honored that Andreas Hammer Head of Combat Air Systems Airbus Defence and Space (Manching) will be one of the already confirmed opening speakers. We have also already reported our delight that the Bavarian State Minister Dr. Florian Herrmann, MdL, has taken over the patronage of Airtec 2024 and will personally open Airtec on October 8, 2024. The exhibitors (as only they are allowed to appear as SELLERS in the B2B meetings) will likely meet buyers and high-ranking tech managers from the following companies at the B2B meetings: Rheinmetall, MBDA Deutschland GmbH, Boeing, Diehl Aerospace, Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. Aviation Historian, Media/Social Media Resource on Airlines/Airliners, Executive Director (Emeritus) Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of NJ
Many are not aware that Air France's first few Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde aircraft were delivered in the airline's pre-1976 livery. Variations of this earlier color scheme had been used for decades by the French flag carrier. It was replaced by what could legitimately be called the very first "Euro-white" look. This is the design the company still uses, in slightly modified form, today. F-BTSC is seen here in the old livery, having been photographed in early 1976 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Sadly is was -BTSC which became the first, and only, Concorde to be involved in a fatal crash (in the year 2000 on departure from this very airport). After a long grounding for safety modifications the Anglo-French supersonic transports were returned to service with Air France and British Airways in 2001. The type was then permanently grounded in 2003 due largely to continuing very low load factors during the worldwide air traffic downturn in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington D.C. Deals worth £13 Billion to the UK aerospace sector were announced at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow. We have significant elements of the major players based in Wales including Airbus, BAE Systems, Thales, GE Aerospace and Raytheon UK and money from those deals will flow into local employment and supply chains. Around 700 sets of wings will be produced this year at the Airbus Broughton plant in Flintshire. As always we took a group of smaller companies with us on the Wales stand, supported by Welsh Government, some as exhibitors and others using the stand as a base for meetings during the show. An initial estimate suggests that total potential orders for those participants will reach £20 million this year, modest in terms of the sales achieved by the larger companies but vitally important for the smaller companies and the communities they serve across Wales. #FIAWales2024. https://lnkd.in/eEnYw-uc

The 260 firm aircraft orders alone are worth £6.4 billion to the UK, while 808 firm engine orders are worth at least another £1.2 billion at current prices. In total, deals worth £81.5 billion were announced at the show according to trade association ADS Group.
