We take pride in our diversity and in our belief that our differences make us stronger. Our LGBTQ+ employee group stays active in the community, including supporting Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Tucson, LGBTQ Alliance Fund and Tucson Pride. And most recently, we had the opportunity to host the Tucson LGBT Chamber of Commerce breakfast. We celebrate Pride with them this month.

In the past two decades, Asian Americans have become one of the fastest growing racial or ethnic groups in the United States. The 2020 presidential election saw historic voter turnout by the AAPI electorate. AAPI voters had the highest growth of any racial group in 2020, with a 47% increase. The Pew Research Center affirms that Asian Americans have been the fastest-growing group of eligible voters in the United States over roughly the past two decades and since 2020. Their number has grown by 15%, or about 2 million eligible voters, in the past four years. That’s faster than the 3% growth rate for all eligible voters during that span. The data is clear, and it confirms what we’ve known. AAPI - or more inclusively, Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander voters are critical in the outcome of elections. Let’s engage this growing block and make the case for Equality! #AANHPIHERITAGEMONTHISEVERYMONTH #AANHPI #HRC #EQUALITYVOTERS #EQUALITY
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Heritage Month! AANHPI voices are vital to the fight for equality and make our community stronger. As a very proud mother of a gay daughter, I’m celebrating Pride 2024 - it’s an opportunity to come together in love and friendship, as well as a moment to reflect on past struggles and ongoing efforts required to achieve true equality. Fostering an LGBTQ+ inclusive and supportive workplace is so important. And the advantages go beyond ensuring that everyone of all sexualities and gender identities feel safe, supported, valued and included – it enhances business productivity and profitability. “The case for establishing a truly diverse workforce, at all organizational levels, grows more compelling each year….The financial impact—as proven by multiple studies—makes this a no-brainer.” Havard Business Review Nov-Dec 2020
CIRO stands with the LGBTQ+ community for Pride Month. “We should indeed keep calm in the face of difference, and live our lives in a state of inclusion and wonder at the diversity of humanity.” – George Takei
