There's so much chatter on the value of college, and I don't think we talk openly enough about the sacrifices and hard choices students and their families make. College can also be difficult to navigate, culturally across chasms from what might make sense to students or families...and yet we know beyond a doubt (thanks, research!) that completing a credential is life-altering and provides pathways out of poverty and access to institutions (jobs, careers, ways of knowing) that have historically only been accessed by "some." I'm honored to work with an agency that cares about what it takes to get to and through postsecondary -- whether that's a degree, trade, or upskilling. Check out some of the data from my incredible colleagues that demonstrate the gaps, and our imperative to increase student success.
