A contest isn’t a contest when a person only competes against themself in that the voters only assess that one candidate to the exclusion of all the others. That person becomes 'CANDIDATE NO. ONLY' This is without prejudice to the fact that in seeking to excel, you are your strongest competition. The only time competing against oneself is permissible is when in some field events, other contestants have fallen by the way side and the contestant left in the contest has the option of beating their last attempt. But the contest would have started with them competing against others. You often hear of how an athlete has run record times during training. This achievement is more significant when you hear that an athlete trains by themself, though some of them may achieve the feat when running with training partners. The reason why it is such an achievement is because the presence of other contestants on the track serves to spur a contestant to push themselves more. If they can break the record when alone, only God knows what they’d do when they have other contestants breathing down their neck. That’s why the finale of every track event produces record times, even amongst the losers. When they all operate in the mastery of the science and the art of the event, all the contestants each bring out the best in each other.

Following TCU's dominant 45-0 win against LIU, we want to highlight their football program, which has gained significant attention in recent years. After their remarkable 2022 season, marked by several major upsets, TCU’s underdog story has made waves across the sports industry. This 'little-big school,' with a student population of under 13,000, has reached impressive milestones by defeating universities with over 50,000 students and continues to build on its success. Since the passage of NIL legislation in 2021, college football athletes have become valuable partners for brands. At TCU, various players promote products on campus, partnering with brands like, Yerba Mate, Canes, JLab Audio, and many more. Forbes recently published an article discussing the new marketing frontier created by NIL and college athletes. Student-athletes are now able to generate income through the partnerships they form, often using targeted marketing to reach the college demographic.
