Aerospace-X flies at full speed ✈ The first on-site workshop of the Aerospace-X research project after the kick-off took place in Berlin this week. The entire team had two exciting days full of brainstorming and conceptual work. It was an important meeting, also in order to clearly define the next steps in the end-to-end quality management work package, which is coordinated by gemineers. Many thanks to Airbus for the great organization, including some fun icebreaker games! Bringing the team together like no other! Also many thanks to the Fraunhofer IPK for hosting the event and to all participants. Looking forward to the next working session! The goal of Aerospace-X is to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of supply chains in the German, European, and, ultimately, the global aviation industry, based on an open and collaborative data ecosystem. The consortium, under the coordination of Airbus, comprises high-class OEM and Tier-n manufacturing companies, digital solution providers, and research institutions from the aerospace sector. The research initiative funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz has an overall budget of more than 50 million euros and a duration of over two years. #aerospace #gemineers #dataspaces #digitaltwin

Calgary's aerospace sector is poised for significant growth and innovation, driven by emerging trends such as autonomous systems, machine learning, and decarbonization. Rachelle Bugeaud, the manager of foresight at Calgary Economic Development, emphasized the importance of foresight in understanding future industry trajectories and preparing for them proactively. Calgary's Aerospace Innovation Hub (AIH), supported by the $3.9 million investments from the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund in early 2024, serves as a focal point for innovation and business growth. The AIH aims to nurture both startups and established companies by providing funding, business support, and real-world testing opportunities. Collaboration between industry and post-secondary institutions, such as Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT)'s involvement in NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator network, enhances Calgary's position on the global stage.
