🌞 The massive potential of UK clean energy industries🌞 The UK government’s green paper for their upcoming industrial strategy, ‘Invest 2030’, acknowledges the economic potential of clean energy industries. Here are some key take aways… 💰 In the period to 2030, low-carbon products represent a £1 trillion for British businesses, according to estimates. 💸 An additional £50-60 billion in capital investment will be required each year through the late 2020s and 2030s to achieve our Net Zero ambitions. 📈 Growth multipliers associated with clean energy investment (1.1-1.5) are larger than those associated with fossil fuels. 🌍 The UK is well positioned, with a comparative advantage in established and emerging clean energy industries, and a developed services sector. 👷 By 2030, low-carbon sectors could create up to 725,000 jobs. What are your thoughts on the potential of clean energy in the UK? Follow our page for regular updates on UK climate action. #NetZero #ClimateAction #CleanEnergy #GreenEconomy #Sustainability

As Australia works to transition to a sustainable future, it is essential there is a shared understanding of the energy transition to ensure that, as far as possible, no-one is left behind. Each year, KPMG conducts a nationwide survey to understand consumer sentiment, perception and awareness regarding the energy transition. This year’s results reveal that although the majority of Australians support it, general understanding of what the energy transition entails remains low. How can we bridge this gap? Take a look at our latest report below
Australia must put people at the heart of its energy transition by providing greater awareness and understanding of its implementation. Read our latest report and insights on this important topic KPMG Australia Louise Pogmore Matt Pearce

Yes indeed My sense is most people have yet to fully work through the impact of ubiquitous ‘fuels’ - while coal centralised generation into point of use power stations renewable energy can, and will be, harvested everywhere - from your home up - this tried to explore what that could look like, to help examine the direction of travel (not necessarily the end game, more to compare to the know make up of a centralised system) - https://lnkd.in/ePCvQFEW
"The narrative taking hold at the moment is taking us back to the past, to a vision of our energy system that is way out of date: a system where big supply assets trickle energy down to small consumers. This is not how the transition to net zero should be envisioned." Says Joanne Wade, Chief Strategic Advisor at the ADE, in her latest blog for BusinessGreen (Incisive Media). Joanne discusses the new political narrative taking hold around energy in the UK and how the sector must fight back to ensure the energy system is transformed in a way that aligns with net zero commitments, and hold consumer benefits at its heart. We were delighted to attend the much-anticipated launch of the Energy Research Accelerator’s Policy Commission report in Parliament last week. ‘Assessing the Case for Public Ownership in the Energy Sector’ explores the potential effectiveness of a publicly owned energy company within the UK's energy system. The report provides a comprehensive analysis and blueprint for how a future government could deliver the energy transition required for a sustainable future. A standout proposal from the report is the recommended formation of a Net Zero Delivery Unit at the top of Government. This suggestion offers practical policy recommendations that any government, committed to the fight against climate change, can adopt and implement. It's a testament to what can be achieved when stakeholders from across academia, business, government and policymakers collaborate to develop practical solutions to complex policy issues. Congratulations to Faye McAnulla, Martin Freer, Nick King, and the entire ERA team and wider policy commission for their important work.
