Did you know that most of the metro mayors from across the country attended UKREiiF, just days after being elected? You might be wondering why regional leaders from across the UK travelled to Leeds for #UKREiiF. UKREiiF provides a platform for people and organisations to connect with those they might not interact with in their day-to-day lives. For instance, Kim McGuinness, the newly elected North East Mayor, visited UKREiiF for the first time to discuss plans to create jobs, build homes, and attract investment to drive economic growth through the new The North East Combined Authority. UKREiiF is a space for generating ideas! We invited regional leaders alongside senior local and government voices to share their ambitions and discuss challenges over lunch in our prestigious Glassbox. Attendees included Angela Rayner, Deputy Prime Minister; Kate Willard OBE, Chair of Thames Estuary Growth Board; Peter Denton, Chief Executive of Homes England; kellie beirne, Chief Executive of Cardiff Capital Region ; Sir John Peace, Chairman of Midlands Engine; and various regional mayors. They discussed plans for collaborative regeneration projects and strategies to grow inward investment in each region. UKREiiF strives to be as inclusive as possible. Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire Combined Authority, hosted the annual UKREiiF Women in Real Estate and Construction Reception on the second day of the event. This informal networking reception allowed guests to meet and connect with other women working in the construction industry.
