During Emergency Preparedness Week, we remind people to be aware of natural hazards like flooding and erosion. Check your property regularly. Look for signs of erosion like bent or leaning trees, a lack of vegetation on the slope, slumping of the bluff, overland flow of water, and groundwater seepage. These may be signs your property is experiencing erosion. If you see a crack running in the same direction as your shoreline, this can indicate a bluff failure may be imminent.
