Greener Future for Cargo Ships is under trial. The ship, named Pyxis Ocean was fitted with two WindWings sails in August 2023 and sailed across the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. During a six-month test, Chief executive John Cooper of BAR Technologies, the sail developer, reported the Pyxis Ocean's fuel savings. After sailing globally for six months, Cargill, revealed the findings. The Pyxis Ocean saved an average of 3 tons of fuel each day. In favorable weather, it demonstrated potential savings of over 11 tons daily. WindWings sails, towering at 37.5 meters, are installed on the Pyxis Ocean, taking minimal space. The sails operate automatically, requiring only crew intervention to adjust them for added power. #greenenergy #netzero #cargoship #emmis #gasemissions #sea #PyxisOcean
