Up to $1M in Funding Available for Organizations Advancing Food Justice for Kids 🍎🥕 Apply by June 11th!
Are you part of an organization working to create a more just and equitable food system for children in the United States?
Newman's Own Foundation wants to hear from you!
The foundation's "Food Justice for Kids Prize" 🏆 offers up to $1 million in total funding over the next two years.
They are seeking applications from nonprofits, public schools, and tribes working in two key areas:
🌽🌱 Indigenous Food Justice - Supporting community-based efforts to reclaim traditional food practices and systems, increase access to nutritious and affordable indigenous foods, and empower indigenous children to learn about, grow, and cook native foods.
🍽️🍎 Nutrition Education & School Food - Driving innovative projects that help children learn about healthy, culturally relevant foods and transform school meal programs to provide free, nutritious options.
Up to 10 organizations (5 per focus area) will be selected to receive grants of up to $50,000 in 2024, with the opportunity to apply for an additional $50,000 in 2025. The foundation is especially interested in supporting initiatives led by and serving historically marginalized communities.
Beyond funding, grantees will also participate in a learning cohort to share best practices and build connections. And one organization will even be chosen by the public to receive a $10,000 Newman's Own Foundation Community Choice Award 💰
If your work is helping to create a more just and nourishing food landscape for kids, I encourage you to apply for the Food Justice for Kids Prize before the June 11th deadline. This is a unique opportunity to not only scale your impact but to be part of a movement driving systemic change.
The application deadline is June 11, 2024.
You can find all the details and application links at the Newman's Own Foundation website.
Our team is Beyond excited to see the incredible work that emerges from this initiative to ensure all children have access to the healthy, culturally relevant foods they need to thrive. 🌍🌱
