More ominous signs that campus unrest may grow in intensity this fall, which raises the following questions: Have college administrators taken advantage of the summer lull to review, update, and strengthen their campus protest policies, in light of "lessons learned" from recent events? Will students return to campus with a better understanding of what those policies are and how they'll be enforced? Do new or returning college students need remedial education in the free speech fundamentals? It's not too late for schools to seize this moment to undertake a top-to-bottom review of their campus free speech policies. If not now, when? https://lnkd.in/eEZUfTDv

Author, Asia Power Watch, Homeland Security Today, NATO COE / Terrorism, Lecturer at ASPI Forum, Author: Narrative Warfare, Primer & Study Guide, Modern Day Minutemen and Women, The Art of Influence: Narrative Strategy
New today from TAT/ Truth about Threats From the introduction: "The fake patriotism of MAGA that sounds something like the following: God, Guns and Trump, has been cultivated by the FOX, NewsMax, OAN, Breitbart crowd and others, for decades. Their audiences now believe in false American values, due to being incrementally, psychologically conditioned, for decades. Their erroneous beliefs are now part of their identity. When your identity has been shaped to believe in the false narratives that shape it, it is nearly impossible to alter. I explain this occasionally when I talk about narrative and Narrative Warfare. In lay terms, this is roughly what people are talking about, when they use the term, influence operations." Tragically, even our national security community, doesn't even know the difference, least of all, the expensive new fraudulent, boondoggle, called the National Center for Narrative Intelligence, at the University of Mississippi. The technology that underpins this boondoggle is from EdgeTheory and has nearly nothing to do with, "narrative intelligence." 🌟 Proverbs 21:15 offers a profound insight: "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers." This verse reminds us of the importance of justice and its profound impact on our lives. When justice prevails, it brings joy and relief to those who have suffered injustice. It restores a sense of righteousness and fairness, providing hope for a better future. However, for evildoers who perpetrate violence and injustice, the prospect of facing justice is a source of terror. It serves as a deterrent against wrongdoing and holds individuals accountable for their actions. In the context of addressing violence and abuse, this verse underscores the significance of seeking justice for the victims. It emphasizes the need to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions and to stand against injustice in all its forms. For those who have experienced the devastating effects of violence, may they find solace in the promise of justice and the hope of a brighter tomorrow. Let us work together to promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and healing, where justice reigns supreme. 🌿💫 #Proverbs21 #JusticePrevails #EndViolence #HealingJourney

2024 #HFGEmergingScholar Marko Kljajic, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focuses on the aftermath of civil wars, specifically how perceptions of collective victimhood shape reconciliation efforts. By investigating the factors that influence these perceptions, Kljajic aims to identify how acts of acknowledgment can promote forgiveness and cooperation in post-conflict societies. His work helps advance our understanding of how to heal divided communities after war. Read the announcement: https://lnkd.in/gTjhFxsN

He/el. Chicano scholar, critical bioethics, decolonial thought, CSUF Latinx Lab for Storytelling & Social Justice.
All of this raises a key set of questions: For whom is campus to be “safe”? For students and faculty exercising their right to academic freedom including the freedom to protest? Or for those who require a militarized system of surveillance and policing in order to feel “comfortable” in maintaining a status quo that has continued for far too long? Do we want to retain our freedom to think, our ability to criticize a foreign power engaged in a policy of genocide in which we are all complicit because our institutions invest in it, our tax dollars finance it, and our elected officials lend it unblinking support? Or do we want to see our campuses turned into desolate zones of state indoctrination patrolled by riot police—with curricula and policies dictated by donors and lobbyists—as more and more students are arrested, swelling the ranks of the more than two thousand already detained across the country?
