Twenty-first-century challenges require 21st-century solutions. Innovation presents an opportunity to accelerate action towards achieving the SDGs by enabling new ways of working, generating new and more real-time data, learning from and scaling grassroots solutions, and establishing diverse partnerships. To accelerate action, UNDP Accelerator Labs is evolving to become a global south-driven research and development capability for the SDGs. We see a clear role to play by contributing to filling data gaps, making sense of emerging roadblocks to achieving the SDGs, and finding innovations that tackle multiple Goals and produce multiple gains.
