🌍🚨 Breaking News: The United Nations General Assembly has adopted the landmark Pact for the Future this morning, reaffirming a global commitment to multilateralism in 2024! And we are more than thrilled about #Action45, which highlights the vision of UN 2.0 | United Nations as key to achieving a more agile, responsive and resilient United Nations - to better support Member States and deliver on its mandates. It reads: “We underline the importance of the United Nations system remaining effective, efficient and impactful. We decide to: Achieve a more agile, responsive and resilient United Nations, in particular by enhancing the Organization’s capabilities in #innovation, #data analytics, #digital transformation, strategic #foresight and #behaviouralscience to better support Member States and deliver on its mandates.” In total, the Pact outlines 56 actions across sustainable development, peace, human rights, climate, and global governance – and is a milestone towards a better, greener, safer future. With a high number of Heads of State and Government, Ministers and more in attendance, interactive dialogues will now be held in the Trusteeship Council Chamber covering topics spanning global governance; turbocharging the 2030 agenda; international peace and security; bridging digital divides; and enhancing the global system for future generations. This inspiring initiative uses the UN 2.0 area of #digital #solutions to support over 2.8 million vulnerable people, helping to reduce poverty in the region.
