European Experience : Pride & (or) Prejudice ?
https://lnkd.in/eceGkTUH
I highly recommend visiting European Experience centre in Brussels. I did. During the summer holiday of my 10 year old son who is now collecting flags and maps. So he did. Moreover he learned from direct visual interview with Ursula von der Leyen what are the core principles, missions and aims of EU/EC and her own hopes and dreams.
Then, somebody somehow with the help of some professionals using (all of ours public money) prepared SHORT VIDEOS OF TYPICAL DAYS OF TYPICAL CITIZENS OF EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. So listen, the Czech Republic is represented by a young (and pretty) lady Ivana. Who, and now it comes : lives in a house /ruin that does not look like any typical house in the Czech Republic, works (alone ?) in some brewery as an inspector, basically coming to work and tasting it (the beer). Meanwhile she is employing? an old lady who is 3 times a day baby bottle feeding ONE (?!) small goat. The sequence finishes with a pretty Ivana coming back home, stroking the little goat and kissing the old lady. The Message? "Direct farm sales, support for business, new roads, no roaming fees, supporting farmers, protected labels and Erasmus."
MY QUESTION : Who did this? Based on what facts?
Well firstly I do not know or know about or heard about ANYBODY LIKE IVANA. So she cannot be typical. We have farmers. Small, family businesses run by families or big corporates. I am not a farmer, but I somehow cannot imagine you can "support farmers and labels" with the help of ONE goat. Yes, we do have new roads, especially those local ones that ARE NOT FINANCED with European money. Well then this ONE BABY FED GOAR somehow makes the farm sales reaching the top level statistics in business activities in the Czech Republic? Connection with roaming fees is even more puzzling for me. The goat is clearly not using mobile networks. Protected labels could potentially be referring to the beer but everybody know what happens when you order "Budweiser". And Erasmus on the top of it all. The goat is not going to study abroad, nor is the old lady, nor pretty Ivana. Well?
I am super PROUD of my country. We should all be. Especially of all those normal, hard working people, paying taxes and building the country without expecting any reward for it. But everyday and everywhere I go I face PREJUDICE towards its achievements, beauty, wealth, success, abilities of its citizens etc., WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? (Czechs, Europeans, Politicians, Marketing professionals, EU MP members, Commissioners, Old or young ladies, goats? ...)
