The 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 (𝐄𝐀𝐖) 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 started as an idea from LeadWomen to create a collective which is uniquely Malaysian, and to examine what DEI looks like with a local lens. What are some actual challenges local organizations are facing, and what are some best practices which have worked? Most importantly, what can we do to move the needle further for DEI? This report is a result of a year-long initiative which showcases realistic challenges faced by practitioners and some practical recommendations. It also tracks crucial impact pledges made by our members after each session. Guess who has been nominated for 3 different awards? I was nominated by one of my friends/old mentors for the Australian Foundation's Diversity and Inclusion Award. Once the evidence was submitted, I was contacted by Awards Australia informing me that the assessment board wanted to add another nomination to my name—the Connecting Communities Award. Then, things get even more exciting. The sponsors of the awards get to choose a nominee for their own category. And guess what! The University of Queensland nominated me for the Create Change Award. This is massive! I am beyond excited and honestly so proud of myself. I want to thank everyone who has ever helped me get to where I am today. Super stoked to announce my participation in AEEAPAC Asia Pacific Conference as a speaker with my talented friend and colleague, Krishna Patel. We'll be talking about the importance of building a post program culture and designing interventions for lasting learning retention in the field of outdoor education and experiential learning. In my experience with outdoor education, I've found that post-program interventions are incredibly valuable. They give participants a chance to reflect on their experiences and really integrate what they've learned into their daily lives. Reinforcing skills after the program ensures that knowledge sticks, and ongoing support helps drive meaningful behavior changes—like increased environmental awareness or improved teamwork. Plus, these interventions foster a sense of community among participants, which is so important. Gathering feedback also plays a key role in refining future programs, making them even more impactful. Ultimately, these post-program activities focus on personal growth, helping everyone become more resilient and effective leaders. Such a valuable and insightful soda meet-up yesterday with Azran Osman-Rani. 2nd time meeting on consecutive public holidays at the same venue. This time, a deliberate rendezvous. We covered a range of business topics: - my PhD on team high performance, Azran's validation of scope with some wise guidance for my navigation, - Our International Coaching Federation-aligned parallel coaching development journey and positive corporate impact, - Gender diversity, quotas and implications, and other fair options, - APAC-specific culture-related performance challenges, - Corporate board performance, alignment, challenges and barriers to impact, - conference panels need to be more valuable (image being in the audience for a panel debating Boeing and Airbus strategy!), - Azran's fascinating career development and migration from Astro to AAX and beyond - how hard Azran works to get posted and tagged on LinkedIn every day 🤣 And we missed out on talking about a stack of other things...for the next public holiday... This is not about the club being innovative but about innovative programs, products or services. Contributions can take many forms and may include a significant role in the implementation and effective delivery of a highly innovative idea. The extraordinary innovation must directly or indirectly impact or continue to impact an area or function critical to progressing the club management industry, an extraordinary contribution to success at their respective club or department. Limit of two entries per organization can be entered in any given year.
