2024 promises to bring another year of record growth to Better Car People, and that growth could not happen without our talented and hardworking team. So, I want to highlight two remarkable members of our team who have consistently shown what it means to be dedicated, hard-working, and innovative. They are the FIRST Beacon Award Winners for 2024. Anthony Kirk and Patty Popovich! Firstly, there's Anthony Kirk, our Team Leader in the Outbound Department. Anthony's leadership skills are nothing short of exceptional. He has a unique ability to motivate and inspire his team, ensuring that everyone works cohesively towards our goals. His strategic thinking has not only increased our department's efficiency but also significantly boosted morale. Under his guidance, the Outbound team has consistently exceeded their targets and set new benchmarks for success. Then we have Patty Popovich, our esteemed Technology Manager in AutoAwards. Patty is the epitome of a tech wizard. Her expertise and forward-thinking approach have been instrumental in advancing our technological capabilities. She's been able to work cross-functionally to ensure all the transitions as companies join together are done and done well.  Her dedication to staying ahead of issues has undeniably helped our companies become one, and grow together. US Two of America’s largest dealership groups have been selected among the nation’s 100 best large companies to work for. Zeigler, Penske among Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work by Auto Remarketing Staff Zeigler Auto Group, which operates 41 dealerships in the Midwest among other businesses, and Penske Automotive Group, owner of some 500 dealerships worldwide, were both among the 100 companies with at least 1,000 employees chosen for Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work 2024. Zeigler, which was 59th on the list, is on the Glassdoor list for the second consecutive year. The selection is the first for Penske, which ranked 76th. “Human capital is our most important asset,” Penske executive vice president of human resources Bud Denker said in a news release. “To be recognized as a Glassdoor Best Place to Work is a great achievement and a testament to the value we place on nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and personal growth.” The list is based on employee reviews ranking workplace factors such as diversity and inclusion, compensations and benefits, culture and values, work-life balance, and more. Companies with 1,000 or more employee reviews were considered for the award. “Receiving this level of acknowledgment from Glassdoor as one of the Best Places to Work for 2024 – especially among larger companies – serves as a clear reflection of our employees and culture,” Zeigler CEO and owner Aaron Zeigler said in a news release. “Our investment in ground-breaking training and development programs, along with growth-focused, employee-first initiatives, give our team members the best training to surpass customer expectations while ensuring that family is always at the center of everything we do.” Zeigler Auto Group received a 4.4-star rating during the 12-month eligibility period, and said it currently holds an overall 4.7 rating and a 97% “recommend to a friend” score. In 2023, I launched a section in The Specialist Car Buyer dedicated to helping dealers and retailers make their businesses more profitable. However, I became disheartened because of the lack of proper engagement and the attitude of some individuals who implied they knew best. I had a conversation with someone recently whose opening line was, "Right, Kenneth, award-winning individual, are we?" I swiftly responded with, "Yes, and here is the award." Initially, I thought this person didn't believe me, but as the conversation continued, I realised their skepticism was because of previous interactions with others. Which led me to think how many award-winning individuals actually exist, can't be that many because of the changes in the trade! "Award-winning for taking a business from 16th to No. 1 in the UK," In the automotive industry. How many can prove it? Reflecting on this, I recognised that every business I worked with in 2023 experienced growth, not a probability but factual. I even helped a member of a sales team achieve record-breaking results and enhance their personal goals. One of our clients expanded and took on new premises because of their increased growth.
