Happy International Doctor’s Day to physicians all around the world! Thank you for your service and advocacy. I often get asked since joining executive leadership if I miss bedside medicine. I do miss emergency medicine and I also embrace my role in the C-Suite as part of my professional journey and another way to work with my colleagues to positively impact the lives of people. I believe that at our core as health care providers is our passion to advance great care, empower people and advocacy and we can be agents of change at the bedside and in board rooms. What are your thoughts on this often debated statement - “health care executives who have a health provider qualification and experience have a competitive advantage for job placement and successful organizational performance over other health care executives who do not”? #naturallyexcellent #healthpromotionandadvocacy #serviceexcellence #leadershipforgood
🩺💙 Celebrating our exceptional Doctors on Doctor's Day! Your unwavering dedication and commitment to care inspire us every day. Thank you for being the healthcare heroes our community relies on. We honour and appreciate you today and always! #InterHealthCanada #TCIHospital #DoctorsDay #HealthcareHeroes

MBBS, FRACGP PhD, GAICD. Director HCF, RACGP President 2020-2022. Clinical Adj Professor Monash University, GPDU co-creator: online learning forum for GPs. Melb Uni MDHS innovation enterprise board
Patient safety. Includes inclusive practices and confidential spaces for the ability to bring up anything. Mostly it’s about therapeutic alliance. A longitudinal continuous GP-Patient-community of healthcare. Trust. It also includes a healthy professional place and much research includes the wellbeing of the workplace as a patient safety issue. Doctors and allied health staff need resources to provide the high quality staff ratios and equipment that they were trained to provide. It doesn’t mean putting staff into untenable working conditions where time can’t be taken with a complex case or an emergency 🚨 Patients can help healthcare by knowing how much their HCW wants to do their professional best by them. The Governments of the day need to fulfil the social contract of well resourced and well funded healthcare to every citizen. It shouldn’t be only for those who can afford to pay. Worldwide that means supporting primary care as the best evidence and the best bang for buck. In Australia that means patients need to advocate for better Medicare rebates and for one health system rather than state (hospital funding) and federal (GP and aged care funding) systems. Our communities need us—so let’s get on with ensuring patient safety by empowering patients to good health and good voice!
🩺 At the core of Primary Care lies something truly special—the patient! Family doctors are there, ready to listen, engage, and empower patients, making them essential partners in their healthcare journey. On the occasion of Patient Safety Day, we celebrate this patient-centric approach that forms the cornerstone of safe and effective healthcare!
