All About Yesterday Leadership Training. Day 3 of the PANS, Uniben leadership institute was a success!!. I learnt about leadership in pharmacy practice and the importance of leveraging policy advocacy for improved health care outcomes. Some key points I picked from the session were: 1: For you to be number 1, you must have knowledge, for you to have knowledge, you must study. 2. For you to have confidence, you need knowledge. 3: If you lack honesty, you have no business with leadership. 4: If you are not on the table, then you are in the venue.( So get involved in leadership role, politics) 5: We are the 🦁Lion in health care sector. 6: There is always no room for vacancy. As a pharmacist, when you FAIL to play your part, be involved, and take charge of your jurisdiction, another personality/profession occupies it. 😥Sad!! 7: When 💊Medicine is mentioned, the Pharmacist should come into the mind of men📌 8:Be involved in policy advocacy because in advocacy, you are the change factor. 9: Advocacy should be backed up by evidence. As part of my professional and personal growth, I am committed to this journey and I will be learning skills that would be a boost to my development. #Leadership #CapacityBuilding #PANSUNIBENLeadershipInstitute

Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellow at UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) 23/24 | MRPharmS ClinDip IPcert
💡What is ALS? and how it made us grow this year! As part of the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Clinical Fellowship Scheme #CPhO by Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM) attending actions learning sets (ALS) sessions have been an invaluable part of our journey. We were fortunate to have these sessions led by two extremely experienced pharmacists who guided us as mentors. These meetings were a safe space to discuss everything from our past experiences and personal reflections to the challenges we're facing this year. In these sessions, we talked about #leadership being a spectrum. We explored different styles—whether we would use the carrot🥕 or the stick 🦯 analogy to compel and inspire. This helped me appreciate the variety in leadership approaches and the need to adapt to different situations. We also discussed resilience and how it comes in waves, which really resonated with me. Understanding this has been crucial in managing the ups and downs of our professional lives. What stood out most to me was the incredible support within our group. We shared our stories, which not only provided fresh perspectives but also uplifted each other. This sense of community has been so important—we’ve really helped each other along the way, and that mutual support has made all the difference. 🙏🏼 I’m truly grateful for our group members Amira Chaudry Ashifa Trivedi Clare Thomson Natasha Lal HoJan Senya . The way we’ve uplifted and supported each other has been inspiring. These shared experiences have strengthened us individually and as a team, helping us grow as leaders. 🎬Now that the year is nearly coming to an end, I can’t help but reflect on how helpful something like this would be in our everyday practice. A culture of mentoring and reflection has been reduced to a novelty or something we begrudgingly partake in when CPD comes around. Wouldn't it be great if we changed our mindset and narrative, embedding these practices into our daily routines? This shift could significantly benefit us, our profession, and our growth. 💭Is this something you think can enhance our daily professional lives? Would having groups of like-minded professionals with shared goals help us lift each other up? How do you envisage integrating these practices into our everyday work routine? #PharmacyLeadership #PharmacyMentoring #ActionLearningSet #leadership #resilience #PortfolioCareers

Exciting news! I'm thrilled to share my latest research on the effectiveness of pharmacy curriculum in Saudi Arabia in developing leadership skills among pharmacy students. 💊🧠 Leadership is becoming increasingly important for pharmacists, as they take on more complex roles in patient care. However, current pharmacy curriculums may not be adequately preparing students for these leadership challenges. 👨⚕️👩⚕️ In this study, we used a mixed methods approach to explore the experiences and perspectives of pharmacy students, interns, and leaders. Our findings suggest that the pharmacy curriculum needs to be revised to better equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective leadership. 🧭 This research has the potential to significantly impact pharmacy education and practice in Saudi Arabia and beyond. I'm excited to continue working on this important topic and to see the positive impact it can have on the future of pharmacy. Here are some key takeaways from the study: Leadership skills are essential for pharmacists in today's healthcare environment. The current pharmacy curriculum does not adequately cultivate these skills. There is a need to revise the pharmacy curriculum to better prepare students for leadership roles. I encourage you to read the full article for more details. And please share your thoughts on the importance of leadership in pharmacy education in the comments below! #pharmacist #leadership #education #research #healthcare https://lnkd.in/dcuqT-hd

The leadership development opportunities that the Iowa Pharmacy Association provides to foster the growth of pharmacists is a testemant to the investment in the pharmacy profession. As staff, one of my favorite events we host in collaboration with the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin is the Decker-Temple Leadership Pharmacy Conference. The 2024 applications are being reviewed as we speak with announcements to come in April. Twenty pharmacists, ten each from Iowa and Wisconsin, are selected to participate in this unique experience. The retreat is designed to provide an unequaled opportunity for pharmacists in their first fifteen years of practice to develop leadership skills which will enable both personal and professional growth. Each year the highly competitive application pool draws in diverse backgrounds from pharmacists including, inpatient, ambulatory care, community, both large chain and independent, and managed care to name a few. One activity that participants do at the end of the conference is write a letter to their future self without any knowing of when that letter will arrive. I’ve enjoyed each year when that mysterious letter from my past self resurfaces and makes its way to my mailbox at just the right time. I’d like to share my letter from last year with you to help you surf the waves of life knowing that the Iowa Pharmacy Association is in your corner. “Dear, What can I say and what should I say. The year hasn’t been easy and honestly I'm tired of saying “this is the hardest or worst year of my life." There’s low lows but there’s also high highs, it’s important to understand that you will need to surf those waves to keep moving forward in life. Even the best of the best surfers fall and get wiped out, but they get back up ready and wiling to surf the waves of life. I encourage you and hope you continue to surf these waves. Don’t slip under. Surfer communities (pharmacy profession) look out for each other out on the water, help one another get back up, have the right gear, and continue moving forward.” 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 Keep riding the waves of life! #leadership #pharmacy #professionaldevelopment #wavesoflife
