We are so proud of the work our BTS team does to help save lives, support critical movements, and provide humanitarian relief around the world. It's way harder than it looks and our experts are amazing at their work!
From “beans, bullets, and band-aids,” one of BTS’ operational teams has been providing critical logistical support abroad and doing such an incredible job that we wanted to give them a quick spotlight to recognize all they do. From logistics to comms and keeping things on track when the track itself keeps moving, here’s a Q/A with one of the BTS ops teams who is doing outstanding work every day in some of the most challenging circumstances.

Customer vs. operational service definitions and service agreements
► https://lnkd.in/dh-A2cv -- In YaSM customer-facing services are backed up by (internally or externally provided) supporting services.
The properties of each service are defined in a service definition, and for each type of service there is a particular type of service agreement.

KTMB Open Payment System: A Step Towards Seamless Commuting
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) recently launched its open payment system, significantly changing how passengers experience public transportation in Malaysia. Let's delve deeper into this initiative:
What is it?
The open payment system allows passengers to use various cashless methods to pay for their KTM Komuter journeys. Instead of just relying on Touch 'n Go cards or KTM Wallet QR codes, you can now tap your:
Debit cards
Credit cards
E-wallets (like Boost, GrabPay, ShopeePay)
NFC-enabled devices(Apple Pay, Samsung Pay)
Where is it available?
Currently, the system operates at 80 stations across the Klang Valley and northern region, covering key areas like Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, and Butterworth.
Benefits:
Convenience:Forget queuing for tickets or topping up cards. Just tap and go!
Flexibility: Choose your preferred payment method, from cards to e-wallets.
Speed:Transactions take only 1-5 seconds, minimizing waiting times.
Reduced reliance on cash:Promotes a cashless society and minimizes security concerns.
Accessibility:Opens up fare payments to wider demographics, including tourists.
Important Points:
The system only applies to KTM Komuter services, not the Electric Train Service (ETS).
ETS still requires online ticket purchases due to seat allocation.
This initiative is solely funded by KTMB, showcasing their commitment to modernization.
Overall, the KTMB open payment system represents a significant advancement in public transport convenience. By offering diverse payment options and faster transactions, it promises a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience for millions of commuters.

Following our very successful #BSIP Workshops last week, we are hosting an online workshop event for those Local Authorities who were unable to attend the successful in-person workshops.
This event is primarily for local authority officers tasked with producing the 2024 Bus Service Improvement Plan document. Together with members of the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom BSIP team, we will workshop the best way to produce a high quality 2024 BSIP document that meets the DfT guidance and is not excessively onerous to produce.
