"Auditors are looking at the issue of problems addressed in the encounter in the E&M billing and coding world today with a much more jaded eye.... Immediate Past President of the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants and Lead Urgent Care & Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant
More of a reason to advocate for the removal of outdated and restrictive PA practice laws in Ohio! Findings from a recent study published in the Journal of Medical Regulation examined 10 years of data to explore the impact of permissive versus restrictive laws on physician assistant (PA) practice. Surprisingly, no significant differences were found in medical malpractice payment reports between states with different PA scope of practice laws. These results suggest that removing barriers to PA practice doesn't compromise patient safety and can improve access to high-quality care. Join OAPA now to continue our efforts to practice at the top of our license and provide high quality healthcare access for all Ohioans! #OhioPAs #PatientAccess https://lnkd.in/gMyUzXh6

The patient experience is just one of many reasons to be clear about a clinician's level of expertise and licensing. The term 'provider' applied across the board causes confusion, and in some ways dishonors the diversity of skills and expertise within care teams. https://lnkd.in/gezq7cX4
