Golf One Media, LLC published a very nice feature article called "Taking Ownership - Concert Golf Partners" by acclaimed Golf Writer Steve Pike, who praised Concert Golf's strategic growth plan and mission: "A lot of golf ownership companies these days talk a good game....about investing and reinvesting in their properties, but they follow through with more style than substance. Concert Golf Partners, however, is into more substance than style. The Lake Mary, FL-based company’s mission is simple: Preserve private clubs by investing capital to enhance amenities, service levels, and the overall member experience." The trend of millennials moving to private golf communities, once unlikely due to declining interest in the sport among younger generations, is on the rise. This surprising shift gained momentum during the pandemic, with the National Golf Foundation reporting a record number of rounds played in 2023. Trending with this growing demand, Saltleaf Golf Preserve by London Bay has introduced an all-new public course in Bonita Springs, just a short drive from one of the country's golfing capitals: Naples, FL. Fully reimagined from its members-only roots as Raptor Bay Golf Club, Saltleaf Golf Preserve offers a public play, daily fee model, welcoming golfers of all ages to enjoy not just one, but two courses. While there, players experience the allure of the surrounding Saltleaf community, which includes a marina, nature trails, and 224 luxury condominiums at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Estero Bay. Could golf be the key to driving residential sales in the neighborhood? Keep reading The Wall Street Journal below:

For all you golf warriors, this is a must read. Thank you Andy Medici Boston Business Journal for a great article. Country clubs and golf courses are at a pivot point, and Blake Walker is banking that subscription models are the future of the industry. The veteran hospitality executive and CEO of the privately held Arcis Golf is bucking the idea that country clubs and daily-fee golf courses are inherently different. That’s why he formed Arcis in 2014. Over the past decade, the company — with the backing of Fortress Investment Group and Atairos — purchased nearly 70 clubs and has grown to about 6,000 employees. The company now holds a roughly equal mix of daily-fee courses and private country clubs that includes several high-profile courses, including Champions Retreat Golf Club near Augusta, Georgia, a 27-hole private course designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. But it also includes public courses that many golfers frequent, including Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas and Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton, Colorado. Traditionally, the two concepts haven’t mixed, but Walker is betting on a future in which people can move from one to the other as their lives change — and enjoy broader access than just their own local club or course. “My belief at Arcis’ inception (was) that there are far more commonalities than differences between daily-fee courses and private courses,” Walker said. His goal is to create an ecosystem that includes everything from entry-level to upscale clubs in every major metro in the U.S. The company has acquired and invested $100 million in dense pockets of courses around major metros. In 2021, he told the Dallas Business Journal, his plans to double the company over the next five years, through acquisitions and organic growth Walker's company is seeking to disrupt traditional models at an inflection point for golf courses and country clubs alike. Many golf courses have seen a surge of business since the pandemic, while a variety of factors have led several country clubs to close their doors and contributed to rising dues at others. #realestate #golfcourse #buyers #countryclubs

Very interesting read. Still see some parallels from 1967 to today.
Looking back to the May 1967 issue of Golfdom, a Minnesota superintendent shares his thoughts on the “golf course superintendent supply squeeze.” 👇🏻

CIC specialise in helping Golf Clubs grow their membership by rethinking their use of space and enhancing their customer's experience. The golf season is now in full swing, and with summer's heightened enthusiasm, golf clubs have a unique opportunity to capitalise on this momentum. It's the perfect time for club managers to think about retention strategies that will keep members engaged, even during the colder months when golf might not be at the forefront of their minds. The golf clubhouse is a crucial asset that can play a significant role in this effort. Not only does it serve as a hub for social interaction and relaxation, but it also has the potential to be a major revenue generator. Take, for example, Enfield Golf Club, who we worked with. The club focused on renovating its interior to enhance the experience for both members and visitors while opening up new revenue opportunities. This included converting an underused TV lounge and meeting space into a golf swing room, allowing members to practice their swing virtually on renowned courses. Such an innovation not only added value to the member experience but also created a new revenue stream for the club. In addition to creating new facilities, Enfield Golf Club's renovation included upgrading lighting, replacing floor coverings, and refurbishing existing areas, all within a 14-week timeframe and budget. A notable change involved repositioning the gent's toilets to free up central space, which had previously been underutilised. The club also tackled noise issues by introducing acoustic folding doors, ensuring that the function space and member areas could coexist without disturbances. Similarly, Bedfordshire Golf Club recognised the importance of maintaining high standards to retain and attract members, especially following a surge in membership due to the pandemic. With our guidance, they carved out a dedicated swing room area, showcasing top golf brands and generating additional income. The club also took the opportunity to modernise changing facilities, aligning them with the club’s prestigious reputation. Our holistic approach ensured that the renovations met the needs of members while appealing to prospective guests. These case studies illustrate that by investing in the clubhouse's interior design, golf clubs can significantly enhance their appeal and profitability. By offering advanced facilities, such as swing rooms, and addressing practical issues like noise management, clubs can create an inviting environment that encourages members to return throughout the year. By prioritising high-quality design and functionality and working with a reputable contracting company such as CIC, golf clubs can foster a sense of community and provide a setting that entices members to stay connected to the club, no matter the season. The rule of 3’s… Three things that I know to be true, on this day, February 13 2024: 1. TaylorMade and Tiger are business partners in Pop Stroke, since November 2022. 2. Wes Edens and Rory are business partners in Drive Shack, for years now. 3. Topgolf is having an earnings call at 2pm PST. Three things I suspect are true, on this day: 1. Tiger is not a close friend of Greg Bartoli, owner of Pop Stroke, as was recently suggested in a timely article. 2. Tiger is a close friend of Rory’s, forever more, beginning during the summer of 2021. 3. The PIF, Taylormade, Tiger, and Rory, are planning to compete directly with Topgolf, effective immediately. Let’s #growthegame Together With gratitude always https://lnkd.in/dQp_5Srw
