🌟 Day 1 at MWC 2024: A Glimpse into the Future 🌟 As the sun sets on the first day of the Mobile World Congress 2024, I am left invigorated by a day rich in connections, learning, and visionary discussions. My day commenced at our #iotsquared booth, part of the #stc exhibit, where I learned a lot about what #stc is doing in terms of emerging technologies. Then my journey took me through a series of enlightening sessions. The "Quantum Industry" session opened my eyes to the astounding potential of quantum computing in reshaping our digital landscape. At the "Smart Mobility Summit," I delved into the future of the connected living ecosystem in a car context and finally i attend a session in "Beyond series A: Unraveling the Secret of Business Models for Fundraising," I gained valuable insights into the intricacies of creating robust business models, essential for securing funding in today's competitive landscape. In between these sessions, I connected with partners, colleagues, and i visited a couple of booths mainly related to AI technology, including software solutions and AI chip advancements. One of the most stimulating discussions was about the future of smart cities and mobility, imagining how these emerging technologies will redefine our everyday lives. I am personally excited about the mainstage agenda - over 3 days, leading members in the TIP community and associated policy makers that are at the forefront of driving supplier diversification and commercialisation of Open RAN, OOPT, Open Wi-Fi will talk in practical terms of what’s working and what more needs to be done to transform the telecoms industry and to scale Open Network Solution deployments globally. And Day 3 is all about Innovation - AI in Networks; chipset and L1 stack disaggregation to name two new areas. I’m also interested in hearing more about the technical and commercial realities within the breakout sessions about Blueprints for success, regions where local ecosystems are being stimulated, and more on areas of innovation e.g. how will AI/ML help to optimise how Telecom Networks function, and the challenges in adopting & managing multi cloud offerings to best support Operators to deliver network functions for different use cases. Join us online tomorrow, Thursday 16 October, at 10.30am for the Cyber-Physical Future Forum when we welcome Hannah Boardman, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to present the opening address. The Forum marks the official launch of the National Cyber-Physical Infrastructure ecosystem and follows the recent cross-sector collaboration announcement by Digital Catapult, Connected Places Catapult through the Digital Twin Hub, and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. The programme will create a pathway for the emerging National Cyber-Physical Infrastructure (NCPI) ecosystem in the UK, building on the foundations of the UK Government’s Cyber-Physical Infrastructure Consultation. NCPI is funded and supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. This is a half-day interactive event to spark discussion on growing the cyber-physical ecosystem and breaking down the common challenges and scientific areas central to enabling industry innovation, as captured within the Consultation.
