A Celebration of Freedom - "America the Beautiful" The Declaration was a powerful assertion of the colonies' right to be free and self-determined, laying the groundwork for the birth of a new nation. Independence Day celebrations have evolved over the centuries, but certain traditions have become quintessentially American. Fireworks displays light up the night skies, symbolizing the spirit of celebration that followed the successful quest for independence. While the Fourth of July is a day of celebration, it is also an opportunity for reflection. The ideals enshrined in the Declaration of Independence – life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – remind us of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all Americans. As fireworks light up the sky and communities come together, the Fourth of July stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of freedom and the shared commitment to building a more perfect union. #RevolutionaryWar #AmericanRevolution #StarsandStripes #AmericanDream #GodBlessAmerica #UnitedWeStand #AmericanValues #AmericanHeritage #July4th #AmericanCulture #AmericanSpirit #AmericanIdentity #AmericanExceptionalism #AmericanIndependence #USAstrong #ValueIcons #ValueIconsAmericanRevolution #VIAmericanIndependence #ValueIconsAmericanFreedom #ValueIconsUSAstrong #ValueIconsAmericanSpirit #ValueIconsAmericanCulture #ValueIconsGodBlessAmerica #ValueIconsAmericanHeritage #ValueIconsAmericanRevolution #ValueIconsBeautifulAmerica #ValueIconsIndependenceDayCelebrations #ValueIconsAmericanLegacy #ValueIconsAmericanTradition

#History On January 1, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, declaring that all people being held as slaves would henceforth be free. Two years later, on January 31, 1865, the 13th Amendment was passed by Congress. Yet, it wasn’t until June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers finally arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, with the long-awaited news of freedom. This day, now celebrated as #Juneteenth, also known as Jubilee Day, commemorates the emancipation of African American slaves. While we celebrate this monumental day, it’s important to recognize that June 19th, 1865, was not the day that all slaves were freed. As a national organization, Latina Professionals represents a diverse range of voices, identities, and experiences. The essence of being American is often misunderstood, with some equating it to displays of patriotism through guns and flags, and others seeing it as unrestrained personal freedom. Both views miss the true meaning, which lies in embodying the ideals of the U.S. Constitution: Reason, Virtue, Wisdom, and Temperance. These principles, rooted in ancient Athens and revived during the Renaissance, formed the foundation of America's Enlightenment ideals. Yet, these values are largely forgotten, even among law students. As Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia noted, many Americans are unfamiliar with these foundational principles. To heal the nation, torn by factionalism, we must embrace moderation, as advised by Montesquieu and Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton emphasized that even the righteous can be misguided by personal biases, and intolerance in politics is as absurd as religious persecution. Unity in love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13, rejecting a broken political system, can lead to a new era of enlightenment and a rebirth of American ideals through forgiveness and renewal. #politics #america #U.S.A #Democrats #Republicans #liberals #Conservatives #Trump #Biden #pardon #corruption #philosophy #currentaffairs #currentevents #WorldNews #NationalNews #media #public #publicaffairs #government #internationalaffairs

Problem Solver/Story Teller/Owner/Consigliere - Sustainable Building Enclosure Specialist, US Army Veteran, Father
Two Hundred Forty Eight years ago, a group of men whom believed in freedom, borders, language, culture and the self evident rights of man granted by our God above, set out and signed the Declaration of Independence . At that time and place in history, they and their fellow “countrymen” had been abused by an ever powerful, greedy, central government which created nothing yet expected all in return. A government which suppressed and usurped the values held by these founders and their countrymen. A government which taxed endlessly to grow an empire which did not return the spoils of war to its peoples. A government that suppressed religious practices of Christian men and women. This was two hundred forty eight years ago. Our Founding Fathers who signed this great Declaration of Independence, pledging their lives, reputations and fortunes to the cause of freedom, would be likely be appalled today at what the country they created has become. Over the course of decades past, we the people have given away our inalienable rights in return for an ever growing federal government which is larger, more imposing and more suppressive than the monarchy which our Founding Fathers gave all to overthrow. The Borders, Language and Culture which created a blessed nation seem to have vanished with the sands of time thus being replaced by the divide and conquer schemes of a corrupt, two party government and the ever growing power of a non democratic, unelected administrative State. Where do we go from here? Can our grand experiment started two hundred and forty eight years ago be revived? Can the inalienable rights of man and the virtues of a the republic be espoused once again, thus restoring our nation to her God intended greatness? These are the questions I ponder on this anniversary of our American Independence. Thoughts, actions, consequences , accountability and restoration, these are the key words on my mind. Wishing all my fellow Americans and their families a great day of Independence. Glazier Nation #independence #peaceofmind #loveofcountry #fourthofjuly #wethepeople #americafirst
