Did your Spotify Wrapped confuse you too? Do they have "too much data" to make sense of - sensibly? 🟢 2 of my top 5 songs were songs I didn't like at all - Spotify would just push them in my playlist, & I would skip them each time. How did those songs make it to the top? 🟢 My Google clock's alarm tone is a song that's played from Spotify - so Spotify thought it was my favourite song because I "played it everyday". Genius. 🟢 This year they also showed you the monthly phases of genres you listened to the most. I didn't relate to that list at all. Same with the top 5 artists. It felt like watching someone else's wrapped. Spotify Wrapped turned from "Here's what your year sounded like" to "Here's the music we pushed on your playlists" Their data may be factually true. But I couldn't relate to it emotionally anymore. 💡 It also tells me about how my music listening habits have drastically changed from the MP3 days. Now I choose lesser for myself, & let their algorithm choose for me. So I'd like to thank Spotify for this year's wrapped - I learnt something about myself - that I need to choose the music I listen to more often! Were you satisfied with this year's Spotify Wrapped? #spotify #spotifywrapped #wrapped2024 #UXdesign #data #algorithm #design #industrialdesign

The Magic of True Personalization: A Spotify Story 🎵 Music isn't just sound – it's a lifeline. From my parents crafting mixed tapes of folk, disco, and classic rock to my own CD-burning days of Alternative, Hip-hop, and R&B, music has been my constant companion. Over a decade ago, Spotify transformed my relationship with music. What started as a platform for creating playlists became something magical. I went from carefully curating classical, electric swing, indie, and lo-fi collections to letting Spotify do the heavy lifting. ⚠️ News alert for parents: Spotify is now testing how to keep kids' songs out of your algorithm. No more surprise, "Baby Shark" in the Mood Booster playlist! Because there's nothing more jarring and annoying than kid music suddenly making an appearance in your AI-recommended playlists. Am I right?? Here's why Spotify's personalization matters: - 81% of users cite personalization as their favorite platform feature - Their AI DJ creates unique experiences for each listener - Recommendations consider not just what you like, but when (hello, Daylist!) and how you listen – whether driving, cooking, or working out I've watched Spotify evolve from a music service into a personalized companion that truly "gets me." No more endless scrolling. Just pure, intuitive musical joy. What's your favorite example of a platform that just *gets* you? #CustomerExperience #Personalization #DigitalInnovation #SpotifyMagic

It’s that time of year again when everyone’s talking about their Spotify Wrapped. And I’m here, seeing the flood of colorful charts and top artist lists. But here’s what I’ve been thinking: Spotify Wrapped isn’t just a cool feature - it’s a genius marketing move. Think about it. Spotify took something as simple as data... who we listened to, how often, and when... and turned it into something personal, engaging, and shareable. It’s not just stats, it’s an experience. They’ve managed to make a year’s worth of data feel meaningful. It’s one of the few things that actually helps us reflect on the year. We’re given a snapshot of our personal journey - from the songs we discovered to the genres that defined our mood. What I love most? It’s not just about listening to music - it’s about feeling that music. The nostalgia, the energy, the highs and lows. Spotify Wrapped turns data into emotion. Here’s what I’ve learned: → We all have a soundtrack to our lives. → Some songs define us, some just get us through. → The music doesn’t just fill silence, it holds meaning. Spotify Wrapped doesn’t just show you your listening habits. It gives you a story. Your story. And here’s the real genius: Spotify has managed to turn this into social currency. You don’t just get your stats, you get a shareable, brag-worthy post that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger. For me, my top artist was The Weeknd - no surprise there. His music defined a lot of the year for me. What about you? Who topped your list this year, and what’s that one track you just couldn’t stop playing? #spotify #spotifywrapped #Weeknd #music #songs #personalgrowth

🎵 As the year winds down, everyone’s buzzing about their Spotify Wrapped! 🎧 As Spotify Wrapped drops, it’s a reminder of how music connects us, inspires us, and even reflects who we are. This year, my top tracks and artists showed me more than just my listening habits—they reminded me of the power of storytelling and rhythm in every aspect of life, including work. Music is like a great team: - 🎶 It’s diverse, yet harmonious. - 🎸 It adapts to challenges, yet stays true to its essence. - 🎤 It energizes, motivates, and creates moments of flow. In both music and professional life, collaboration and creativity are the keys to meaningful outcomes. My 2024 goal is to bring more of that energy into my work—where ideas flow seamlessly, much like the perfect playlist. Here’s to wrapping up the year on a high note and stepping into the next with purpose and rhythm. What did your Spotify Wrapped teach you this year? Share your top song or artist in the comments—I’d love to know how music inspires your journey! #SpotifyWrapped #MusicInspiration #ProfessionalGrowth #EndOfYearReflection

🎧 It's that time of year again, Spotify Wrapped is back! But let’s talk about the tracks you didn’t share. Wrapped is all about celebrating your playlist, but what about the songs that live in the shadows? The ones you love but are too afraid to admit to—the guilty pleasures, the wild cards, the tracks tied to your alter ego? That’s where Spotify B-Side comes in. For the 2024 Future Lions competition, my team and I created a Spotify feature and campaign about embracing and unleashing your hidden side—the music that reflects the parts of you that don’t always make it to center stage. This idea came from how music connects us to who we really are, even the sides we’re too shy to show. Because let’s face it, the songs we keep to ourselves often say the most about us. So, what’s on your B-Side? The B-Side Team 💚 : Aryaman Srimal (Strategist), Kareena P. (Strategist), Derin Kavalcıoğlu (Copy-Writer & Video Editor), Mackenna Maguire (She/Her) (Art-Director), Mariia Demina (Art-Director) & Tak Morshuis (Art-Director)

Confession time: I treat my Spotify Wrapped like the ultimate year-end party invitation. The big reveal has always left me grinning as I rediscover old favorites, uncover hidden obsessions, and brag about those edgy tracks that barely anyone else has heard of. But this year, I’ll admit I left the “party” feeling a bit…underwhelmed. Instead of feeling like a handpicked playlist from a trusted friend who “just gets” me, it came off more like a rushed auto-generated mixtape. (Anyone else double-check if their top artist was actually their top artist? The timing, the packaging of it — it all seemed a bit... rushed?) But let’s be real—I’m still a certified Spotify superfan. I’m not here to dunk on the platform I’ve adored for years but instead, I’m here to imagine an even brighter future. What if super-users, emerging DJs, and self-proclaimed music curators like me could join forces with Spotify’s brilliant internal teams? Together, we could remix the formula and bring back that spark of genuine discovery, adding a layer of human curation that complements the algorithm’s speed and scale. I don’t have all the answers, but I’ve got a few potential ideas to explore. Let’s connect and explore new ways to make music discovery feel magical again, turning each Wrapped into a celebration that actually blows our minds — and maybe introduces us to a few songs we didn’t know we desperately needed. Spotify has guided my music journey, and I’d love to share that joy with new and emerging listeners as well! The joy — of discovering a new song and making it your month's hyper fixation — is truly unparallel. Here’s to reinventing the playlist party—one track, one playlist, and one Wrapped at a time. If any of this sounds interesting, reach out, and let’s chat! #spotify #spotifywrapped #AI #musicindustry #music

"You’ve changed. And so has your listening." 🎵 The Spotify Wrapped we all know and love is back—this time with a month-by-month(ish) breakdown of how your music taste evolved, which is pure genius. Music is often tied to specific memories—moments, seasons, or emotions that define where we were and how we felt. From having a Heatwave Old School Soul Alte season in September to a Pink Pilates Princess Afrobeats Catwalk moment in October. Spotify went even further beyond just genres this year. They created music personas that beautifully matched our real-life experiences, subtly reminding us how much we’ve grown and evolved. By weaving this into the Wrapped experience, they’ve created something more than just stats—it’s a moment for reflection. 🌟 What was I going through during that month? 🎶 What artist was I listening to the most? ... and so many other questions come to mind. It’s such a clever way to add depth, encouraging us to reflect on our year both musically and emotionally. And honestly, it’s perfect timing—at the end of the year, when so many of us are already in a reflective state. Oh, Spotify. You really did something (to me) with this one. Spotify’s approach turns music into a personal narrative and data into a tool for deeper connection. What’s one song from your Wrapped that takes you straight back to a moment? 💭 #SpotifyWrapped #MusicAndMemories #BehaviourInsights #ConsumerInsights #ConsumerRelationships

If you are a Spotify user, you know about the end of year wrapped feature. Spotify neatly presents back to you your most played artists and songs. It not really “magic” as it was you who was listening all year long. Where real magic comes in, I think is the hype. People now share them online, pin them to their profiles and posts. Companies piggyback the language of it to capitalize on the seasonal popularity. Did you see SNL 2 weeks ago? Spotify Wrapped has become part of the season and language. It also provides the music industry and others data, they can use. Let’s reflect back on a time when radio was the only new music source. Radio had weekly countdown programs and the famous Casey Kasem's global program. I think Casey Kasem would crush it on Tik Tok BTW. Same thing- new delivery. So what does this mean for YOUR business? Can you create a 2024 wrapped of best loved products, top events your business created or hosted or animals who found homes? This could be shared in a marketing email or social media post. Leveraging the popular language of the season allows your business to engage with what has become a seasonal touch stone for some music lovers. #audio #radio #spotify #wrapped #caseykasem #countdown #businessidea #digitalmarketing #emailmarketing #thinkdifferently opinion
