July is UV Safety Month! ☀️ As you soak up the summer sun, protecting your skin is crucial. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation accelerates aging, leading to sunburns, spots, and wrinkles. Approximately one in five people develop skin cancer in their lifetime, so wearing sunscreen when outdoors, especially in the late morning or early afternoon when the UV rays are strongest, is highly recommended. The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the following tips for staying safe in the sun: ▶️ Most experts recommend an SPF of 15 or higher and labeled “broad spectrum” to protect against UVA and UVB radiation. ▶️ Reapply sunscreen every two hours or more often if you are swimming or sweating. ▶️ Wear a hat with a brim all the way around to protect your face from the sun. ▶️ Limit sun exposure when the sun is at its highest (typically between 10 am and 2 pm). Vantage Personal Care offers essential actives and ingredients for use in sun care formulations that provide water resistance, improved solubility, and a better feel on the skin. The Middle East region receives some of the highest levels of solar UV radiation in the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), countries in the Middle East often experience UV index values that exceed 10 during certain times of the year, indicating extreme risk of harm from unprotected sun exposure. This results in prolonged exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation, a major risk factor for skin cancer. Sun protection should be practiced year-round, even on cloudy or overcast days, as UV radiation can penetrate cloud cover and cause skin damage. Additionally, UV radiation can reflect off surfaces like sand, water, and snow, increasing your exposure even when you're in the shade. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to all exposed skin, including your face, neck, ears, and hands. Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more frequently if swimming or sweating. #UVRadiation #SunSafety #SkinCancerRisk #DNARepair #MelanomaAwareness #BasalCellCarcinoma #SquamousCellCarcinoma #SkinHealth #ProtectYourSkin #CancerPrevention #SunDamage #SkinCancerAwareness #HealthySkin #SunProtection #SkinCareTipsh

It's well worth looking at these ingredients. Aside from being plant based from sustainable and traceable sources, they're lipophilic for better absorption into the skin.
Over the past few years, the skincare industry has seen a significant surge in products with skin barrier protection properties as consumers become increasingly aware of the skin barrier's crucial role in maintaining overall skin health. The skin barrier retains moisture and shields against environmental threats like pollutants, UV radiation, bacteria, and allergens. A compromised skin barrier can increase susceptibility to inflammation, infection, and sensitivity. Our plant-based bioactive emollients have proven barrier strengthening and protective benefits and are ideal for incorporating into face and body care products designed to maintain resilient and healthy skin. This UV Safety Awareness Month comes with a gentle reminder about sun protection- particularly when it comes to UV rays and the risks to older adults. Protection from the sun and UV rays is critical, regardless of age. But older people face more risks due to: > thinner skin that doesn’t heal or recover as quickly as it once did. > years of cumulative exposure. > lowered autoimmunity as a result of aging, which affects the body’s ability to fight off cancer cells. > a higher number of harmless skin lesions, moles, or other types of skin changes can make it challenging to identify malignant spots before it’s too late. This summer, encourage older residents, patients, community members or loved ones to stay inside during the brightest parts of the day, wear sunscreen when they do go out, and cover up- including clothes made of lightweight materials, hats and sunglasses with certified UV protection.
