Love these posts from the Ginsberg's Foods team. Great job of establishing the brand of a company by featuring the people who make the company what it is. How is Ginsberg's, a regional food distributor, going to stand out when so many products are commoditized? They showcase their people. I want to open a restaurant just to buy from this guy, and from the team that he considers family. Branding isn't just marketing to potential customers. It is also attracting additional employees and making the enterprise/company/brand more attractive to other companies as partners. I'd suggest some design tweaks and mechanics within the edit, but full props to the messages. #branding #brandbuilding

Don't follow someone else's journey, create your own. Embrace the uniqueness of your story. Surround yourself with great people, take chances. Embrace setbacks as motivation, start from the bottom, and focus on developing leaders. Remember, success has no timeframe – enjoy the journey without stepping on others' toes. Don’t waste your time keeping up with the competition. Stay busy improving yourself and your team.

Yesterday, I posted about how several of my colleagues and I (all INDEPENDENT travel agents) will be attending a conference in August at the Orland World Center resort. Today, I saw an article about how Panera Bread, which recently did a complete overhaul to their menu (not to everyone's liking), will be closing down the Chandler dough factory and laying off 64 employees. Something to think about: Panera seems to be doing pretty well with their Sip Club venture and updating to I guess more modern fare than they had. So I bet you, many of those employees thought their jobs were safe. Especially those that worked in the Chandler dough factory as the chain IS called, technically, Panera BREAD. What about YOUR job? Is it as safe as you think? Even if your not ready to consider a different career venture, let's talk. FINALLY. Just finished reading "Unreasonable Hospitality" by Will Guidara, a book that came highly recommended by so many people and truly lived up to its reputation. Having worked in various restaurants and currently in a food service adjacent role, I found the emotions, challenges, and lessons in this book resonate far beyond the realm of restaurateurs. The value of a cohesive team and a shared vision cannot be overstated—critical lessons applicable across any business. Respect and recognition for every role are essential to keeping operations smooth; toxicity, on the other hand, can be detrimental. Ultimately, whether you're in a direct hospitality role or selling a product, we are mostly in a customer service centric business. Without a well-functioning team, customer service simply isn't possible. Reflecting on a 2-day, all-hands strategic planning session at Tarrison in January (a first for the company), I'm reminded of how fortunate I am to work with such a dedicated team that is achieving our shared goals and ensuring our vision becomes reality. Here’s another consultancy client case study that I’m very proud to shout about ❤️ I’ve been working with Seamus O'Donnell and Tom Rowley at The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant Ltd for a few years now. Initially working with them on a sustainable supper club project back in 2022. We immediately got on really well and understood each other’s way of working. I really “got” the brand and they seemed to get me and how my brain worked. Lately, I started working part time as a Brand Ambassador for a Marketing company, and selling products to people at various Sainsbury's outlets has taught me a lot about Marketing and Sales. For example, last Friday (15th March 2024), I was called to sell Irish Whiskey (neat). And first of all, I learnt that its not easy to sell Whiskey in the afternoon as I got a lot of "It's too early to be trying Whiskey" responses. I only had 5 hours, and the company Target was 20. The Busker blend Triple smooth, Triple Casks produced in Royal Oak distillery Ireland • It is a beautifully yellow gold coloured whiskey.
