We have some exciting news to kick off the week! Verano Energy is proud to contribute to Colombia's energy transition progress: Our 270 MWp solar project Las Palmeras, under the SPV, Generadora San Joaquin S.A.S, located in the department of Cesar, has been awarded in the latest Reliability Charge auction conducted by XM SA ESP for the period 2027-2028. This auction, held on Thursday, February 15th, was convened by the Comisión de Regulación de Energía y Gas (CREG) and contributed to the allocation of 4,441 MW from new solar plants, representing 99% of the total auction. This demonstrates significant growth in installed capacity and the consolidation of renewable energies in Colombia, a country that could reach a 26% share of solar energy by 2027. For Verano Energy's Country Manager in Colombia, simon harb, this news marks a groundbreaking milestone in our efforts to strengthen our presence in the Colombian energy market through the development of clean energies and contributing to our overarching goal of combating climate change.
